Rep. Matt Gaetz Agrees Brexit Mantra, “No Deal Is Better Than Bad Deal,” Applies to TikTok Sale

Congressman Matt Gaetz insisted on War Room: Pandemic that “no TikTok deal” would be superior to a “bad deal that leaves American data in the hands of the Chinese Communist Party.

Gaetz, author of the newly-released book Firebrand: Dispatches from the Front Lines of the MAGA Revolution, affirmed co-host Raheem Kassam’s assertion that “no deal is better than a bad deal, i.e. banning TikTok is better than a bad deal that leaves American data in the hands of the Chinese Communist Party.”

The Florida Congressman explained his rationale:

“The national security review to me is a binary one: you cannot be in some area of a gradient where this is okay. Either TikTok functions to the strategic advantage of the Chinese Communist Party or it doesn’t. If it does, the deal should not be approved, and there is no six-second Jason Derulo dance worth inviting the Chinese Communist Party into the living rooms of many millions of Americans.”

Gaetz also sounded the alarm on a host of other Chinese Communist Party-linked companies including DJI Drones and BGI Genomics:

“TikTok is a strategic asset of the Chinese Communist Party, but, by the way, so is DJI Drones. They own 90 percent of the drone market here, and our own Department of Homeland Security says that they use these drones to identify critical infrastructure. They give them to our law enforcement and we fly them around, and we don’t stop it. BGI is a genomics company where the Chinese are able to access the genetic material of Americans for mapping potential vulnerabilities, so I think that we have to have a wholesale strategic approach to the way that China tries to infiltrate our country with these dual-use technologies at scale.”
