So far in the GOP race for 2016, there has been only one candidate to stand up strongly in the last few weeks and months against the new raging political correctness that has completely overtaken the gay marriage and religious freedom debate: Gov. Mike Huckabee.

He’s not stopping at just government policies either.

Huckabee has made headlines recently for calling out Christians for “evolving” on the issue. From OneNewsNow.com:

“As a biblical issue, unless I get a new version of the scriptures, it’s really not my place to say, OK, I’m just gonna evolve,” the former Arkansas governor contended. “It’s like asking somebody who is Jewish to start serving bacon-wrapped shrimp in their deli.”

The basic tenant of Christian theology is that sex is a sacred act that should be between a married man and woman. That’s not to say that anyone who goes outside of that area should feel the wrath and judgment of Christians (which only faux-Christians like Westboro would consider). But rather that Christians believe that the ideal situation for children is to have stable a stable family with a father and a mother.

But this goes to a larger point. Political correctness has invaded the public debate on marriage so much so that even Christian churches don’t feel comfortable teaching their own theology.

How do we stop this insanity? We need leaders willing to stand up to those that seek to stop all discussion on the issue.  Again, from OneNewsNow.com:

“We’re so sensitive to make sure we don’t offend certain religions, but then we act like Christians can’t have the convictions that they have had for over 2,000 years,” Huckabee argued. “I would like to think that there’s room in America for people who have different points of views without screaming, shouting and wanting to shut their businesses down.”

Marriage and religious freedom are huge issues for this country. There should be a very serious debate and discussion before making any radical changes.

So who else will stand up against our modern age of political correctness? Who else in the GOP field thinks that marriage and religious freedom should be at least debated and open for discussion? Bueller? Anyone? Bueller?
