Fiorina Refuses to Endorse Constitutional Amendment If Supremes Impose Gay Marriage

The Pulse’s own Shane Vander Hart reported last week on comments Carly Fiorina made to Caffeinated Thoughts regarding the upcoming Supreme Court decision on same-sex marriage.  During the short interview, Fiorina said that she would not support reversing a potential court decision redefining marriage in all 50 states and instead pivoted to a vague support of religious liberty:

I think the Supreme Court ruling will become the law of the land, and however much I may agree or disagree with it, I wouldn’t support an amendment to reverse it.  And I very much hope that we will come to a place now in this nation where we can support their decision and at the same time support people’s right to hold religious views and protect their right to exercise those views.  I think this is a nation that should be able to accept that government shouldn’t discriminate in how it provides benefits and that people have a right to live religious views and those views need to be protected–that we need to protect religious liberty in this country.
