Planned Parenthood is running a poll asking respondents “which candidate do you think poses the worst threat for women in 2016?” It frankly boggles the mind how a female candidate who has built a positive narrative around her experience as a woman in the corporate world could even be considered a threat to women. One would think that a woman who touts her experience going from a secretary in a small real estate firm to becoming the first CEO of a Fortune 20 company would instead be considered an inspiration to women. In an article reporting on the Planned Parenthood poll, Townhall’s Cortney O’Brien cites an interview she conducted with Fiorina in which she asked Fiorina how she would define feminism:

“I think the real definition of feminism is that a woman, any woman, can live the life she chooses and believe the things that she wants,” Fiorina said. “So, if a woman chooses to stay home and home school her children, she’s every bit as much a feminist, as a woman who decides to go off and be a CEO – as long as it’s her choice.”

I remind you that this quote comes from someone who is supposedly a threat to women everywhere. However, the simple truth is that when Planned Parenthood talks about threats to women, they’re using the phrase as a euphemism for threats to the abortion industry. Fiorina’s outspoken and unyielding support for the sanctity of life makes her a threat to the abortion industry, and the abortion industry wants us to believe the falsehood that, somehow, that makes her a threat to women.
