Planned Parenthood, already reeling from an undercover video accusing them of selling fetal organs, was hit again this morning by another sting production from the Center for Medical Progress. This new video features another Planned Parenthood executive haggling over the price of “specimens” and admitting she would change medical procedures to collect tissue. Here are the three best (or worst) quotes from the new video:
- “If our usual technique is suction at 10-12 weeks, and we switch to using an IPAS or something with less suction, or to increase the odds that we’re going to come out with an intact specimen. Then we’re kind of violating the protocol that says to the patient, ‘we’re not doing anything different in our care of you.’ Now to me that’s kind of a specious little argument and I wouldn’t mind asking Ian, who’s our surgeon that does the cases, to use an IPAS at that gestational age.”
One of Planned Parenthood’s rationales for existing is that without it, women wouldn’t have access to safe abortions. Here, however, we have a top brass executive admitting that she would be fine changing the procedure if it meant getting an “intact specimen.”
- “Now this is for tissue that you actually take? Not just for tissue that a person volunteers, but you can’t find anything, right?”
It seems like just last week that Cecile Richards was insisting that all tissue collected was on a volunteer basis. This quote calls into question that statement and suggests that not all of the “donations” are voluntary. If that doesn’t give even the most pro-abortion activist pause, I don’t know what will.
- “You know, the money is not the important thing for me, but it has to be big enough that it makes it worthwhile for me…”
Coming toward the end of the video, this quote takes any lingering hope that Planned Parenthood is at least doing this for altruistic purposes and dashes it into a million pieces. “It has to be big enough that it makes it worthwhile for me” is not the statement of a philanthropic supporter of research, it is the statement of a profiteer. If nothing else serves to condemn Planned Parenthood and its affiliates in the eyes of the American public, this certainly will.
