Failed Abortion Candidate Wendy Davis Attacks Fiorina…On Abortion

Anyone remember Wendy Davis?  Just last year, Davis was a cause celebre of the Democratic Party, who leveraged her filibuster of a Texas abortion bill (which later passed anyway) to launch a candidacy for governor that Democrats hoped would end their losing streak in the state (spoiler alert: it didn’t).  Now, after months of silence, Davis has surfaced once again with a mission to take down Carly Fiorina.  Breitbart reports:

In a 10 minute interview with Austin NBC affiliate KXAN-TV, Davis claimed Fiorina “alleged that there were activities that took place in those [Planned Parenthood] videos that absolutely were not true” at the last Republican presidential candidate debate.

…Davis, best known for her catheter-wearing, pink sneaker-footed 11-hour filibuster to support late term abortions when she was in the Texas state senate, painted Fiorina as “disingenuous” and “dishonest” and even self-serving. She asserted Fiorina tried to “cover up and excuse the comments she made during that debate, created her own video out of whole cloth essentially, that has nothing to do with anything that occurred at a Planned Parenthood facility.”

…The lengthy TV news segment hit other usual mainstream media talking points – war on women, “gender equality,” achievement and opportunity gaps, voter redistricting, and raising the minimum wage. Davis even insisted Fiorina has a problem against women.

Strong words, but before team Fiorina starts panicking, they should keep in mind that Wendy Davis has a history of losing elections – badly – on the issue of abortion.  Far from reversing Democratic losses, Davis fared worse than even the grimmest predictions for her campaign last November when she lost Texas by a staggering 20 points.  She got to this number by massively losing the very women she claimed to represent, 54-45.  All in all, I would recommend Fiorina take Davis’ attack as a sign she’s doing something right.
