Why Ben Carson is So Scary to Liberals (Video)

Frank Cannon is president of the American Principles Project and a respected conservative political strategist with over 30 years of experience.

“I think it’s really unfortunate that the news media [has made a] total attempt to find out things about Ben Carson in which they can try to depict him as a liar,” Cannon said. “I mean, you have to really get your mind around the idea that the news media wants to prove that an inner-city, black child who had a conversion experience was in fact never really violent and that his big lie was that he made up some kind of anger streak. And to do this, they try to talk to people who could not possibly have had direct knowledge of the incident.”

Cannon continued, “The latest in these is the question about West Point. The central argument was that he said he got a scholarship there. Of course, the essence of what he was saying was that he performed well during ROTC and that he had met Westmoreland and that he had the idea that he could get into West Point and that maybe Westmoreland would help him. And so, over time, that got embellished somewhat.

“But give me a break,” Cannon said. “This isn’t $100,000 in cattle futures from Hillary Clinton. And this isn’t the case where throughout her entire State Department tenure she has been telling one story to the American people and another story privately, which came out of the Benghazi hearings, or that she’s been raising money for a private foundation…

“The scale is totally out of whack,” Cannon concluded. “Ben Carson may have embellished a little bit, but his story is still a compelling one of moving from a position where few succeed to a position where he’s now challenging for the highest office, and this is what’s scary to liberals.”
