Bridal Shop Receives Violent Threats after Declining to Serve Gay Wedding

Victoria and Tom Miller, owners of a bridal shop in Pennsylvania, have become two of the latest victims of the LGBT movement’s war on traditional beliefs about marriage and sexuality. After a lesbian couple’s Facebook post incited threats of violence against the owners and employees of W.W. Bridal Boutique of Bloomsburg, Penn., the husband and wife have been forced to close their shop’s doors rather than risk their own safety.

The anger stems from an incident earlier this month when Julie Ann Samanas and Shannon Kennedy were told by those working at the boutique that they would have to find their wedding dresses elsewhere because “our faith doesn’t let us believe in [same-sex weddings.]

The two left the store, but it didn’t end there. Later that morning, they posted a message on Facebook accusing the shop owners of discrimination and urging others to boycott the bridal boutique:

I’ll gladly take my money some where else, when a business won’t allow you to try on wedding dresses simply because you’re gay Join me in 2017 #discrimnationisnotcool #WWbridalbloomsburg they removed the option to tag in to the shop, WW Bridal.

Nearly 400 people have shared the post and hundreds more on both sides of the controversy have commented on it. Rather than simply deciding to boycott the shop, however, many have responded with threats to the Millers’ safety. The shop shared one of those threats, received via voicemail on Tuesday, with The Christian Post:

You stupid f****** bigots. We are coming for you and your family. We are going to tear your shop a part and make you feel as bad as you have made people feel. You f****** bigot scum. You are going down and so is all your employees and their families. You’re done!

Victoria Miller says that she and her husband were not attempting to “deprive anyone of the opportunity to live their lives as they see fit.” All that they want is to be free to not violate their religious beliefs and consciences:

We have provided formal wear for our customers from all walks of life, including the LGBTQ community. We have always served everyone with respect and dignity. It is just this event, a same-sex marriage, which we cannot participate in due to our personal convictions. We simply ask that we be given the same ability to live our lives according to our convictions.

This isn’t the first time the Millers have had their safety threatened on account of their religious beliefs. Three years ago, they were shocked by the number of death threats they received for another incident involving a same-sex couple.

Rather than simply letting people like the Millers live their lives peacefully without having to violate their religious beliefs, those on the left have increasingly turned to demanding affirmation of the LGBT lifestyle from everyone. Anything short of full-fledged endorsement of same-sex marriage is met with violent rhetoric — and sometimes even calls for violent actions.

The Millers are just two of the many people who have been victimized by the Left’s relentless drive for LGBT “equality.” Their comrades include cake artists, florists, photographers, pastors, and event venue owners, all of whom simply desire to be able to make a living without having to choose between protecting their physical safety or preserving their deeply held religious beliefs.

Is that really so much to ask?
