The mainstream media lived up to its ‘Fake News’ moniker this week, dedicating a mere 64 seconds of coverage in total to a leftist plowing a van through a Republican Party voter registration tent with six volunteers inside.
The scant total is the sum of just three separate mentions on NBC and CNN while their establishment counterparts MSNBC, ABC, and CBS ignored the attack entirely.
The media blackout is especially telling given the perpetrator citing hatred for President Trump as his motivation:
Where is the outraged media? Why are they so silent on this? This would be the number one story in the world right now if it was a Trump supporter doing it to a group of liberals.
It’s a disgrace that they don’t even pretend to pay attention to growing leftist violence. https://t.co/Eca6pfip1v

NBC addressed the attack just once, spending a negligible 25 seconds:
Anchor Willie Geist informs viewers: “A 27-year-old man is under arrest and charged with aggravated assault after police say he drove a van into a Republican Party voter registration tent in Jacksonville, Florida, on Saturday. No one was hurt, thank goodness.”
Following mainstream media dogma of never missing an opportunity to attack President Trump, he adds: “Police say they can’t yet say with any certainty whether this was politically motivated, but President Trump tweeted about the incident, writing, “Law enforcement has been notified. Be careful tough guys who you play with!”
NBC has provided no further coverage despite authorities confirming the attack was indeed “politically motivated.”
The incident was mentioned on CNN twice: once, unintentionally, by former Trump DOJ spokesperson Sarah Isgur while referencing the left’s reaction to Rush Limbaugh at the State of the Union and as a brief at the tail-end of their 5am program.
Together, a jaw-dropping total of 39 seconds of coverage.
While the media’s suppression of this story crystallizes their left-wing bias, the double-standard is even more striking when compared to their coverage of purported right-wing violence. Look no further than their contribution to the Jussie Smollett hoax: they flooded the zone with endless coverage and were all too eager to ascribe political motivation to an attack that didn’t even happen.
Violence against Trump supporters gets a free pass from the media.
