WATCH: Congress Prayer Now Ends ‘Amen… AND A-Women’

The Daily Congressional Prayer to open the 117th Congress concluded, for the first time, with “amen and a-women.”

As Congressman Guy Reschenthaler noted on Twitter, however, “amen” is not a gendered word but rather Latin for “so be it.”

The individual conducting the prayer – a clear appeal to political correctness – was Representative Emanuel Cleaver, a Democrat from Missouri’s Fifth District.
