Yesterday, President Donald Trump fired FBI Director James Comey, following a long year marked by a number of controversies. Perhaps the most interesting part of this news story has been watching liberals lionize Comey and defend him fervently when, just six months ago, they were calling for his head on a platter.
Here are five of the most ridiculous examples of liberals flip-flopping on their opinions of the now-former FBI director:
1.) Keith Olbermann
Just days before the 2016 presidential election, former MSNBC host Keith Olbermann was ready and willing to “Impeach Comey,” but when Trump delivered as asked, Olbermann changed his tune:

2.) John Podesta
Former Clinton campaign chairman John Podesta may be suffering a bit of whiplash from changing his mind so quickly in one day. He began his musings in the morning by insinuating that Comey made him sick:

But he ended the day defending Comey with a not-too-subtle comparison of President Trump to President Nixon:

3.) Rep. Maxine Waters (D-Calif.)
The California congresswoman has expressed strong feelings regarding the FBI Director — albeit in different directions depending on the day:

Congresswoman Waters was succinct: “The FBI Director has no credibility.”

4.) House Minority Leader Nancy Pelosi (D-Calif.)
November 2nd, 2016
Nancy Pelosi, in a sit down with CNN, said, “Maybe [Comey]’s not in the right job. I think that we have to just get through this election and just see what the casualties are along the way.” Though this is one of the more veiled comments from a Democrat on the then-FBI Director, it still revealed her belief (at the time) that he should be ousted from his position.

5.) Senate Minority Leader Chuck Schumer (D-N.Y.)

Just a week before the election, Sen. Schumer stated, “I do not have confidence in [Comey] any longer.”

Once Comey was finally out, however, Schumer lumped him in with the dismissal of Obama era officials who were using their position to obstruct the nascent Trump administration (read: not the same thing):
