Last spring (a political lifetime ago), Sen. Rand Paul memorably chastised the media for failing to question Democratic candidates on their pro-abortion extremism. This week, we again saw some of that extremism on display from the Democratic Party’s presidential front runner and likely nominee.
Appearing on ABC’s “The View,” Hillary Clinton was asked by co-host Paula Faris whether she believes an unborn child, hours before his or her due date, does not possess constitutional rights. Clinton’s response simply has to be heard to be believed:
CLINTON: Under our laws, that is the case, Paula. Under our laws, I support Roe v. Wade, because I think it is an important statement about the importance of a woman making this most difficult decision with consultation by whom she chooses – her doctor, her faith, her family. And under the law, and under certainly that decision, that is the way we structure it.
Earlier this week, The New York Times reported on backlash Clinton was facing from her statement in an interview that “the unborn person doesn’t have constitutional rights” – comments which were controversial on the Left, not for her assertion that the unborn lack rights, but rather because Clinton had the temerity to call an unborn child a “person.”
Let’s emphasize this once more: the Democratic front runner supports abortion on-demand, for any reason, up until the moment of birth, funded by taxpayers, and thinks that the religious beliefs of those who disagree “will have to be changed.”
