Cecile Richards, president of Planned Parenthood, has been using Twitter to spread some “facts.” In one of her recent tweets, she tried to show how important she believes Planned Parenthood is for health care.
Fact: Every day Planned Parenthood’s doors stay open, another 8,118 people get health care.

Using numbers from Planned Parenthood’s own annual report and the fact that Planned Parenthood is generally open 305 days in a year, Richard’s tweet should more accurately read:
Fact: Every day Planned Parenthood’s doors stay open, another 1077 babies are aborted at the expense of $1.8 million to taxpayers.
Those 8,118 people who go to Planned Parenthood could get more comprehensive health care from federally qualified health centers (FQHCs) which outnumber Planned Parenthood locations 20 to 1 and serve eight times as many patients while providing zero abortions.
It’s time to stop listening to “facts” from a woman who is the president of an organization under scrutiny for illegal activity and who has been caught lying time and time again.
It’s time to defund Planned Parenthood and redirect that money to FQHCs.
