NEW POLL: Hillary’s Approval Rating Spells Trouble for Democrats

According to a new Gallup poll, Hillary Clinton is still incredibly unpopular. Via Fox News: It’s been more than seven months since Election Day, but Americans’ opinions of Hillary Clinton remain the same. A new Gallup poll finds just 41 percent of Americans have a favorable view of the former presidential candidate, with 57 percent expressing an unfavorable view. It’s the same split that Gallup found in December 2016. Gallup said that historically, losing presidential candidates have gained popularity after the election. The media, of course, remains obsessed with President Trump’s low approval rating. According to FiveThirtyEight, Trump’s average rating right now is 38.5 percent approval,

What Makes Our Relationship with Great Britain So “Special”?

There has been a great deal of news coverage recently discussing the relationship between Great Britain and the United States. Indeed, we regard our alliance as one of the most important and powerful alliances in the history of the world. Of course, it wasn’t always this way. Remember when the Redcoats burned down the White House? National Humanities Medal holder Lewis E. Lehrman is out with a new book, Churchill, Roosevelt & Company: Studies in Character and Statecraft, and it is an absolute must-read. The book answers a basic question: How did these two global superpowers go from staunch geopolitical

How We Should React to Today’s GOP Baseball Shooting

This morning, an anti-Trump gunman from Illinois opened fire on several GOP congressmen and staffers at a baseball practice in Alexandria, Virginia. The players were preparing for tomorrow’s annual Congressional Baseball Game, a long-running bipartisan tradition to raise money for charity. While the gunman managed to injure several, including House Majority Whip Steve Scalise, it appears that everyone, with the exception of the gunman, will survive. Because Scalise was present at the practice, Capitol Police happened to be on the scene and were able to stop the gunman after several minutes of gunfire. The reactions to this shooting have been varied from

2 Reasons the Comey Hearing Was a Big, Fat “Nothing-Burger”

There are two big takeaways from former FBI Director James Comey’s testimony today before the Senate Select Committee on Intelligence: 1.) President Trump is not under investigation by the FBI. Not about Russia. Not about covfefe. Not about anything. 2.) President Trump may have mishandled his communications with James Comey, but he did nothing illegal. As Speaker Paul Ryan put it this morning, the President is “new at this.” Via Politico: Speaker Paul Ryan on Thursday defended President Donald Trump’s communications with ex-FBI director James Comey, saying Trump wasn’t “steeped in the long-running protocols” of how to interact with law enforcement and is “new at

Why Trump’s Paris Accord Exit Was Brilliant Politics

Conservatives should take the same approach to the politics of the Paris Accord that Liberals always take to reforming Social Security/Medicare. Ask them: Why do you hate poor people? Do you really want to make a single mother working two jobs pay double or triple for her energy bills when she can’t even afford to put food on the table? Make them explain: Why do you hate working men and women? Why do you want to ship our jobs overseas to China and India and away from the Midwest? Corey Lewandowski, President Trump’s former campaign manager, wrote an op-ed for The Hill describing

Guess Which Big-Name Democrat Is Planning a Run in 2020?

The Democrats think they are ready for 2020. They say they are new (!), improved (!), and ready to rumble! And their new, fresh candidate is… Joe Biden? From The New York Times: Former Vice President Joseph R. Biden Jr. is planning to create a political action committee, the most concrete sign yet that he intends to remain active in the Democratic Party and is considering a presidential bid in 2020. The “American Possibilities” PAC, which Mr. Biden intends to unveil on Thursday, will offer the former vice president a platform he can use to nurture relationships with donors, travel on behalf

President Trump: Let’s Go Nuclear

Terry, it looks like you’ve been vindicated! President Trump agrees with your proposal to scrap the Senate’s legislative filibuster and employ the legislative nuclear option: The U.S. Senate should switch to 51 votes, immediately, and get Healthcare and TAX CUTS approved, fast and easy. Dems would do it, no doubt! — Donald J. Trump (@realDonaldTrump) May 30, 2017 Here’s what Terry Schilling wrote earlier this month: Republicans have a small window here — perhaps only two years — to deliver on their campaign promises. The voters are expecting the GOP to “Make America Great Again” as President Trump vowed on the

YouTube Just Censored Investigative Reporting Because… Planned Parenthood

David Daleiden, founder of the Center for Medical Progress, released another damning video yesterday — which The National Pulse covered here — showing Planned Parenthood employees joking around about baby body parts and describing late-term abortions in horrifying detail. YouTube has now removed the video without giving an explanation for doing so. Let’s set aside the fact that the reporting focused on Planned Parenthood, a sacred cow for progressives. Consider the following: An investigative reporter puts up a shocking video on YouTube displaying a taxpayer-funded corporation acting callously and wrongly. YouTube, owned by Google, censors the video with no explanation. The corporate-owned
