Republican presidential candidate Ted Cruz told a crowd in New Hampshire he would return power over education to the states by eliminating Common Core and abolishing the U.S. Department of Education.

The Union Leader reports:

When a mother stood up and said she can’t help her child with homework because of new styles of teaching math, Cruz promised to get rid of Common Core and abolish the Department of Education.

He said decisions about education should be made at the state, and ultimately, the local level.
