Marco Rubio is not the only one running against Common Core in his closing pitch to Iowans. In addition to a YouTube video, Ted Cruz is putting ending Common Core in his Iowa stump speech — as well as abolishing the Department of Education to put an end to federal intrusion into local control of schools.
The Grand Forks Herald reports:
During his speech, [Cruz] also mentioned in passing entirely abolishing the federal Department of Education when he referenced doing away entirely with the new and highly controversial Common Core national educational standards.
