Iowans to Trump: Your Falling Poll Numbers Are Your Fault, Not Ours

The Washington Post reports that Donald Trump during a rally in Sioux City, Iowa, was fixated on his Iowa poll numbers, as Ben Carson has bested him in the last three polls taken among Iowa Republicans.

“Iowa, will you get your numbers up please? Will you get these numbers up? I promise you: I will do such a good job,” Trump reportedly begged.

He then moved to chastisement.

“Will you get the numbers up, Iowa, please? It’s ridiculous.”

Then to outrage.

“What the hell are you people doing to me?” he asked.

It’s called vetting, Mr. Trump. Summer poll numbers mean very little as we approach the Iowa Caucuses and Iowans take a harder look. If 2012 is any indicator, we’ll see the lead change a couple more times.
