Wikipedia Founder Says Website Is Corrupted By NPR’s Katherine Maher, Who May Have Worked With Intel Agencies.

Larry Sanger, the co-founder of Wikipedia, says the massive open-source online encyclopedia is likely ideologically corrupted due to the efforts of its former chief executive, Katherine Maher. Maher led the Wikimedia Foundation, which oversees the online resource, before she was hired as the CEO of NPR.

“For the ex-CEO of Wikipedia to say that it was somehow a mistake for Wikipedia to be ‘free and open,’ that it led to bad consequences—my jaw is on the floor,” Sanger told the Manhattan Institute’s Christopher F. Rufo. He added: “I can’t say I’m terribly surprised that she thinks it, but I am surprised that she would say it.”

Maher, during her tenure as the head of the Wikimedia Foundation, told the Atlantic Council that she “took a very active approach to disinformation” and “through conversations with government” targeted what she deemed misinformation. Sanger, responding to Maher‘s claim, acknowledged that she likely worked with U.S. intelligence agencies to suppress political dissenters.

‘PROBABLY THE CIA.’

“We know that there is a lot of backchannel communication and I think it has to be the case that the Wikimedia Foundation now, probably governments, probably the CIA, have accounts that they control, in which they actually exert their influence,” Sanger said, continuing: “And it’s fantastic, in a bad way, that she actually comes out against the system for being ‘free and open.'”

He added, regarding the state of Wikipedia: “When she says that she’s worked with government to shut down what they consider ‘misinformation,’ that, in itself, means that it’s no longer free and open.”

Sanger lamented Wikipedia’s ideological capture, telling Rufo: “[It] has not just been taken over by the Left, but that it has been co-opted by and working with the government, is just—that’s not a thing I would’ve imagined happening 20 years ago.”

Concerns regarding Maher’s ideological bias and the Left’s capture of important media institutions were first raised by former NPR editor Uri Berliner. The veteran journalist resigned from the taxpayer-funded media outlet yesterday after being suspended by Maher.

China Apple App Store Bans

China Demands Apple Remove WhatsApp, Threads, Signal, & Telegram from App Store… Apple Caves.

China’s Cyberspace Administration has demanded that Apple pull four popular messaging apps from its China-based App Store over national security concerns. WhatsApp and Threads, owned by Mark Zuckerberg’s Meta, along with Signal and Telegram, could circumvent China’s ‘Great Firewall’ via virtual private networks.

“We are obligated to follow the laws in the countries where we operate, even when we disagree. The Cyberspace Administration of China ordered the removal of these apps from the China storefront based on their national security concerns,” Apple confirmed in a statement.

The takedowns come as the Chinese Embassy in the United States is lobbying Congress directly over the Protecting Americans from Foreign Adversary Controlled Applications bill. Passed by the House of Representatives but still requiring Senate approval, the bill would require ByteDance, the China-based parent company of TikTok, to divest from the social media app or be banned from operating in the U.S.

The Chinese regime, which denies controlling TikTok, insists its intervention is “not about lobbying for a single company but about whether all Chinese companies can be treated fairly.”

Chinese state-owned entities own “golden shares” in ByteDance, giving Chinese Communist Party apparatchiks veto power on its board.

Soros, Pelosi, Raskin Attend Swanky Fundraiser for Group That Tattles on Alex Jones.

Several influential figures in Democratic politics were on Capitol Hill Wednesday night for a fundraiser benefitting the People for the American Way (PFAW). Spotted at the event, hosted by the Top of the Hill Banquet & Conference Center, were former House Speaker Nancy Pelosi (D-CA), Reps. Jamie Raskin (D-MD), Jan Schakowsky (D-IL), Sens. Sheldon Whitehouse (D-RI), and Ed Markey (D-MA), as well as Alex Soros — son of billionaire globalist George Soros — and Rabbi David Saperstein.

RIGHT WING WATCH.

The group, which boasts an annual nonprofit budget of nearly $6 million, backs several initiatives that promote politically progressive causes. However, their best-known project is the website and publication Right Wing Watch. Right Wing Watch was credited with leading the campaign to de-platform Alex Jones in 2018. Following a Right Wing Watch pressure campaign, Apple Inc., YouTube, Facebook, and Spotify blocked Jones‘s content.

Right Wing Watch operates similarly to Media Matters for America (MMFA), selectively editing clips of conservative and religious leaders, politicians, and commentators and subsequently promoting the videos to the corporate media. The tactic was actually popularized by PFAW. The group would record VHS television segments and mail them to news networks and television stations.

HOLLYWOOD LIBERALS.

PFAW founder Norman Lear was a Hollywood television producer and writer best known for creating several popular 1970s sitcoms. Lear, a self-described liberal who died in 2023, backed numerous civil-libertarian political efforts. PFAW’s board members include actor Alec Baldwin, comedian and writer Seth MacFarlane, United Farm Worker co-founder Dolores Huerta, actress Jane Lynch, and former AMC Networks CEO Josh Sapan.

RFK Jr. Takes Another Step Towards The National Debate Stage.

On the same day as a dozen of his family members expressed their support for President Joe Biden, Robert F. Kennedy Jr. secured a spot on the official ballot in Michigan, a critical swing state in the November presidential election. The ballot qualification moves Kennedy one step closer to qualifying for the 2024 presidential debates.

Kennedy will need to make enough state presidential ballots to be able to win at least 270 electoral votes. Michigan currently awards 15 electors for the Electoral College, boosting the number Kennedy can win — given the current states in which he’s qualified for the ballot — to 52. The independent candidate has over a month until he’ll need to file finalized petitions to qualify for the Texas and New York ballots — with almost every other U.S. state coming thereafter.

The National Pulse previously reported that Kennedy could make the debate stage. In addition to being mathematically competitive in the Electrical College, the Commission on Presidential Debates (CPD) requires candidates to achieve an average of 15 percent of the vote across five national presidential polls. The CPD stipulates which polls qualify.

Kennedy and his running mate, Nicole Shanahan, received the nomination from the Natural Law Party, approving their candidacy in Michigan for president and vice president, respectively. Natural Law Party Chairman Doug Dern, in a statement from the independent candidate’s campaign, described Kennedy as “the most qualified candidate in the modern-day history of America.”

FBI Knew Fauci’s Gain-of-Function Research in Wuhan ‘Would Leave no Signatures of Purposeful Human Manipulation.’

Government watchdog Judicial Watch has received five pages of records from the Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI) that reveal an April 2020 exchange with officials in the bureau’s Newark Field Office referring to Dr. Anthony Fauci’s National Institute of Allergies and Infectious Diseases (NIAID) grant to the Wuhan Institute of Virology (WIV) in China as including “gain-of-function research” which “would leave no signature of purposeful human manipulation.”

On April 23, 2020, an email exchange with the subject “Follow-up call” occurred between unnamed FBI officials. A person whose name is redacted writes:

Details of the current NIAID [Fauci’s National Institute of Allergies and Infectious Diseases] grant for WIV [Wuhan Institute of Virology] bat coronavirus surveillance and WIV bat coronavirus gain-of-function research are available at:https://projectreporter.nih.gov/project_info_description.cfm?aid=9819304&icde=49645421&ddparam=&ddvalue=&ddsub=&cr=1&csb=default&cs=ASC&pball= [summary of NIH grant to EcoHealth Alliance for Project 2R01AI110964-06]. The key activity for bat coronavirus surveillance is ‘Aim 1 … We will sequence receptor binding domains (spike proteins) to identify viruses with the highest potential for spillover which we will include in our experimental investigations. (Aim 3).’

The key activity for bat coronavirus gain of function is “Aim 3 … We will use S protein sequence data, infectious clone technology, in vitro and in vivo infection experiments and analysis of receptor binding to test the hypothesis that 0/0 divergence thresholds in S protein sequences predict spillover potential.” Translated into lay language, this equates to: “In Aim 3, we will use de novo synthesis to construct novel viruses encoding different spike proteins in an otherwise-constant genomic context, and we will test the ability of the resulting novel viruses to infect human cells in culture and to infect laboratory animals. We hypothesize that there is a direct correlation between the receptor binding affinity of the spike protein and the abilities to infect human cells in culture and to infect laboratory animals. We will test this hypothesis by asking whether novel viruses encoding spike proteins with the highest receptor-binding affinity have the highest abilities to infect human cells in culture and to infect laboratory animals.”

The reason I am writing is that the experimental strategy proposed in Aim 3 (“infectious clone technology”), if performed using commercial or in-house gene synthesis to prepare the infectious clones, *** would leave no signatures of purposeful human manipulation***. [Emphasis added]

A colleague then replies, “Hey, are you going to be in the office tomorrow? We just interviewed our person from [redacted] again, and he provided us with some alarming new info. Give me [a] call if you can.”

The email thread was then forwarded by the Newark Office Assistant Special Agent in Charge-National Security Branch (ASAC-NSB), whose name is redacted, to the then-special agent in charge of the Newark Field Office, Gregory Ehrie.

“These smoking gun documents showed the FBI quickly understood that Fauci’s agency funded the gain-of-function research that could disguise the resulting coronavirus as ‘natural,’” said Judicial Watch President Tom Fitton. “These new documents further demonstrate the need for a comprehensive criminal investigation into Fauci’s gain-of-function scandal.”
