Hey, RedState? Quit Viciously Attacking Good Conservatives.

I have a lot of respect for Leon Wolf and all the folks over at RedState. I really do. But I made the decision months ago to ignore their website — at least until Wednesday, November 9th — when they became so stubbornly committed to the #NeverTrump movement that they chose to support Gary Johnson, a pro-abortion, anti-religious freedom statist who is not remotely conservative.

Yuck.

It’s one thing to oppose Trump on a principled level, which I can understand. Several writers for The Pulse 2016 have been vocally #NeverTrump, including Maggie Gallagher, Michael Lucchese, and others. But attacking people — good people — who are trying to do their best to advance the conservative movement is beyond ridiculous for an ostensibly “conservative” website.

Enough, RedState. Stop it.

Kimberly Ross went on a vicious tirade today against Marjorie Dannenfelser, president at Susan B. Anthony List and a frequent contributor at The Pulse 2016, after news broke that Dannenfelser would be heading up Trump’s pro-life coalition:

In no way is Trump trustworthy on abortion or any other issue. He has shown little natural pro-life inclination since January. The only thing that has changed is he has moved up to the front of the pack.

Dannenfelser and others just don’t want to get left behind.

I truly believe the pro-life platform is a foundation on which to base other conservative ideas. Believing life is precious from conception through old age molds a person’s worldview. It should not change according to who is running for president on either side of the aisle.

Dannenfelser and others who are considered leaders in the pro-life movement aren’t bravely standing for the unborn. Their move from sounding the alarm on Trump’s deplorability to embracing him has nothing to do with principle, and everything to do with pride.

Ross (and Leon Wolf, managing editor of RedState) had the audacity to publish an attack on Marjorie Freaking Dannenfelser as someone who isn’t “bravely standing for the unborn.”

Give me a break.

Through Dannenfelser’s efforts, the Susan B. Anthony List was able to secure promises from Trump to commit to:

  • Nominating pro-life justices to the U.S. Supreme Court.
  • Signing into law the Pain-Capable Unborn Child Protection Act, which would end painful late-term abortions nationwide.
  • Defunding Planned Parenthood as long as they continue to perform abortions, and reallocating their funding to community health centers that provide comprehensive health care for women.
  • Making the Hyde Amendment permanent law to protect taxpayers from having to pay for abortions.

This is a big deal. No Republican nominee has ever committed to a pro-life litmus test for Supreme Court justices. And while Hillary Clinton continues to push further to the left on abortion — she openly supports aborting babies up to the moment of birth at the expense of the taxpayer — Trump is promising to fight for all of our pro-life legislative priorities.

Remember, if the RedState crowd gets their way, Hillary Clinton will become president, appoint militantly pro-abortion justices to the Supreme Court, continue to abort babies up to the moment of birth, and force taxpayers to foot the bill for it.

We get it. You don’t like Trump. Fine. Attack Trump all day — I don’t care, I won’t read it. But don’t viciously attack good conservatives within the movement who are trying to do the right thing. You should know better than that.

Retract the post, Kimberly. Retract the post, Leon.
