The more voters see of front runner Donald Trump, the more they like Hillary Clinton. That’s the news from several new polls, showing Hillary has taken a commanding lead in a head-to-head matchup with Trump, trouncing him by 9 points in the ABC/WaPo poll and by an astounding 13 points in the latest NBC/WSJ poll.

Some of the distaste for Trump seems to be rubbing off on other Republicans but not nearly to the same degree.  Hillary Clinton beats Ted Cruz by only two points, within the margin of error in the same NBC/WSJ poll, for example, while Marco Rubio is tied with Clinton.

Hillary Clinton is a very weak candidate. Unless we nominate Trump.

I know Trump says he hasn’t started yet on Hillary. I thought he might be right until I saw “Little Marco” bait him into discussing his private parts on national television — demonstrating to me that he is going to be extremely vulnerable to the Left’s psychological warfare in the general election. Plus, Trump is not going to get the free media ride he gets from CNN and elsewhere when he criticizes Republicans in the primary.

The latest polls also show Trump is not getting to 50 percent, but he may have a great night tomorrow as Rubio and Kasich and Cruz divide the anti-Trump vote, preventing a clear Trump vs. anti-Trump election from emerging.

If we end up with Trump as the nominee, that failure to coalesce around the one leading alternative — Ted Cruz — explains why.
