Parents Across America Join Protests Against Radical Sex Ed in Schools

It seems like a new example of the outrageous trampling of parental rights in schools regarding sexuality and gender issues pops up almost daily. Parents throughout the nation have reached their limit with the radical, Planned Parenthood type of sex education and the promotion of alternative lifestyles masquerading as anti-bullying programs in public schools. According to the Child Protection League:

Parents’ rising anger over school programming steeped in gender ideology, graphic sexualized curriculum, and days set apart to support and affirm LGBT behaviors are driving two high profile national events in April

The first was The National Sex Ed Sit Out, which occurred this past Monday in at least twelve cities across the U.S. and in three other countries: Canada, Australia, and England. The Washington Times noted the international concern of parents about “pornographic” sex education and that prevention of “biased-based bullying” is being used as an excuse to “give the gay rights movement ‘complete access to our children in the public schools.’”

Regina Young, one of the parents participating in the North Carolina event, said that forcing this kind of radical sex education on children is a “form of bullying” itself.

This issue of sex and bullying education received national coverage leading up to the protests after Elizabeth Johnston, the “Activist Mommy,” put out a video about the rapid erosion of parental rights since the legalization of same-sex marriage. She gave examples of children being taken away from parents who refuse to give their children non-FDA approved medications that have dangerous and life-changing consequences and also mentioned how a Delaware attorney is pursuing legislation to allow children to change their gender identity in school without parental consent:

The video spread like wildfire. It was picked up by many news outlets, including Rush Limbaugh, Fox News, and The Daily Caller.

Breitbart News quoted a former Planned Parenthood employee saying that their sex ed curriculum works to break down student inhibitions, just as a pedophile does to its child victims.

The movement to push back against this frightening agenda is growing rapidly, as parents step up to assert their authority once again in the schools and with school boards. The hash tag accompanying the campaign is #HandsOffOurKids, and there are many more resources to continue the important fight available at the website sexedsitout.com.

The second event is designed to protest and counter the rapid erosion of parental rights in schools around LGBT issues and is happening this Friday, April 27th.  The Day of Silence Walkout is being promoted by nearly four dozen national and state organizations. It is intended to counter the disruption of class time by students and or teachers that will remain silent during an entire day to promote the political agenda of the Gay, Lesbian, and Straight Education Network (GLSEN) and “its controversial, unproven, and destructive theories on the nature and morality of homosexuality.”

Parents are being urged to call their children out of school if their high school or middle school allows students or teachers to remain silent during instructional time on this day. The goals are to “actively oppose this hijacking of the classroom for political purposes,” to “reclaim a proper understanding of the role, and limits of public education,” and to “de-politicize the learning environment.” Parents are given a host of resources on the site to deal with the logistics of participation and the reasoning behind it.

Although the dangers to children’s innocence, privacy and freedom of conscience, as well as to parental autonomy, are becoming numerous and severe, there is hope. Parents are waking up. Join the movement!
