Terry, it looks like you’ve been vindicated! President Trump agrees with your proposal to scrap the Senate’s legislative filibuster and employ the legislative nuclear option:
The U.S. Senate should switch to 51 votes, immediately, and get Healthcare and TAX CUTS approved, fast and easy. Dems would do it, no doubt!

Here’s what Terry Schilling wrote earlier this month:
Republicans have a small window here — perhaps only two years — to deliver on their campaign promises. The voters are expecting the GOP to “Make America Great Again” as President Trump vowed on the campaign trail, so what happens if the Democrats filibuster and block tax reform? Health care reform? Immigration enforcement? Infrastructure? Trade reform?
Are Republicans really going to sit back and let the Democratic minority sabotage a once in a lifetime opportunity granted to them by the voters?
Here’s an idea: stop capitulating. Stop empowering the petulant Democratic minority whom the American people voted out of power.
Terry is right. Republicans were elected en masse last November to Make America Great Again. Allowing an archaic Senate procedure to stop that from happening would be political malpractice.
And there’s no question the Democrats would scrap the filibuster if they were in power and it meant they could pass their agenda. They understand the stakes. Why don’t Senate Republicans?
