Pro-Abortion Activists Spread Ugly Rhetoric as Supreme Court Battle Begins

Often, pro-abortion rhetoric is not inherently violent, but is simply based in a lack of biological understanding and the misconstrual of women’s rights. However, in reaction to the possibility that the next U.S. Supreme Court justice may assist in overturning Roe v. Wade, what abortion supporters are willing to say has grown quite disturbing.

Take comedian Michelle Wolf for example, who recently decided to have a ‘salute to abortion’ on her Netflix show, stating, “God bless abortions and God bless America.”

“Some people say abortion is ‘killing a baby,’” Wolf went on. “It’s not. It’s stopping a baby from happening. It’s like ‘Back to the Future’ and abortion is the DeLorean. And everyone loves DeLoreans.”

She continued by mocking the pro-life stance of Vice President Mike Pence, stating, “He thinks abortion is murder, which, first of all, don’t knock it ‘til you try it — and when you do try it, really knock it. You know, you’ve got to get that baby out of there.”

Other comments and displays have gone even further than Wolf’s. A pro-abortion photo from last year has now gone viral, showing two women holding a banner that states, “If Mary had had an abortion, we wouldn’t be in this mess.”

And ABC News reports that many abortion supporters are now sending pictures of coat hangers to Republicans in the U.S. Senate who are known to be swing voters. Using the hashtag #HangersForCollins among others, this is an extremely crude reference to the opinion that overturning Roe v. Wade will make the number of illegal abortions skyrocket.

These are just three examples of the current rhetoric. While disgusting and violent abortion rhetoric has always existed, it is truly horrifying to see how widely accepted it has become in the past months. Even more astonishing is the fact that it is being seen as a valid way to protest a pro-life appointment.

I believe that people who support abortion because they disagree with pro-lifers on where life begins or they believe that it is a woman’s right are highly misguided. However, this bloody, violent, rabid support of abortion is an obvious form of evil. It at many points acknowledges the unborn baby as human, and then savagely supports his or her murder, practically laughing at the fact.

This form of pro-abortion advocacy is truly disturbing, and pro-lifers must step up their game to combat it wherever we meet it. Advocating violence and murder is never okay, even when the victim in question is unborn.
