Should Christian Couples Lose the Right to Adopt Because They Believe a Child Needs a Mom and Dad?

A disturbing story from Great Britain: a Christian foster couple who by all accounts had lovingly cared for foster children was asked by social workers to help prepare the children for living with a same-sex couple. They expressed concerns about this because the children were looking forward to having a new mummy.

And then they applied to adopt the children themselves. Social workers denied the application because they judged the couples’ beliefs detrimental to the long term interests of the child.

This is not the first such case. Several years ago, I went to the U.K. to interview a loving Christian couple who were denied a license to foster 5-8 year old children because they could not affirmatively tell children gay sex is good.

You can watch their story below. These are the faces of the new victims of an ideology that believes it is better to deny children love from people like this:

I have to note the author of this piece is herself pro-gay marriage but disturbed by the actions of the social workers. Thank God for decent liberals.
