Business Insider CEO Posts Column Entitled: ‘We are anti-fascism’, Then Misdefines Fascism

Henry Blodget – the founder and CEO of corporate news site Business Insider – penned a short op-ed Tuesday entitled ‘We are anti-fascism’ in what appears to be a sop to the AntiFa rioters bringing businesses to their knees across the United States.

Blodget, hardly the paragon of populism as a former Merrill Lynch analyst, wrote on Tuesday:

We do not support “Antifa.” We are against using violence to advance causes. We believe violence should always be used a last resort or in self-defense.

But we are certainly anti-fascism.

And we would like to see our president make clear that he, too, is anti-fascism. Because sometimes these days, it’s hard to tell. Especially last evening, when he forcefully cleared peaceful protesters out of a park so he could stand in front of a church holding up a bible.

But while he claims to not support AntiFa, Blodget is clearly virtue-signaling to the anarchists and communists hurling bricks through windows and either shooting or even mowing down police officers.

Blodget repeats the mainstream media attack on the President of the United States for ostensibly clearing “peaceful protesters” out of LaFayette Park on Monday afternoon.

But U.S. Park Police made clear the protesters were not peaceful, and were indeed hurling projectiles at officers trying to keep the peace on D.C. streets after six nights of rioting and looting.

Blodget claims anti-fascism is “anti-authoritarianism, and anti-the hyper-nationalist, domineering government behavior that often goes with it.”

But the dictionary definition of fascism is a political philosophy that leads to “a governmental system led by a dictator having complete power, forcibly suppressing opposition and criticism, regimenting all industry, commerce, etc., and emphasizing an aggressive nationalism and often racism.”

In other words, there is palpably no fascism in America.

Instead, the Business Insider impresario changes the meaning of “fascism” to suit his political ends: the tell-tale behavior of an actual authoritarian. Rewriting definitions of words, and with it, rewriting history.
