She’s Back: Clinton Launches New Group, Promises to “Resist”

Six months after losing her second presidential bid, Hillary Clinton has reemerged into the political arena. Following a hiatus spent “reflecting, spending time with family — and, yes, taking walks in the woods,” she has decided it’s time to get back in the game. On Monday, via her Twitter account and of course her favorite email server, Clinton announced her newest project, “Onward Together,” which recycles the logo from her failed 2016 campaign:

The mission of this new organization is hard to decipher from its website. Besides a box for collecting email addresses, the home page simply contains the four words: “Resist, insist, persist, enlist.”

The mission statement says that the organization “is dedicated to advancing the vision that earned nearly 66 million votes in the last election.” It will do this by “encouraging people to organize, get involved, and run for office.” Without giving any specifics about where the donations will go, or to whom they will be given, Clinton goes on to encourage her followers to bring their energy “into 2017, 2018, 2020, and beyond.”

Two weeks ago, Clinton hinted at her recent move when she told the audience at the Women for Women annual luncheon that she was “back to being an activist citizen and part of the resistance.” While it’s unclear exactly what Clinton has up her sleeve this time, one thing’s for sure, this woman is not going to leave politics anytime soon.
