This past Saturday marked the official 100th day of Donald Trump’s presidency, bringing to a close a hectic period in which the President pressed forward on a number of his campaign promises.
In order to highlight some of those early successes, the Trump campaign released today a new TV and digital ad proclaiming that the President is already “making America great again”:
Some of the achievements touted by the ad include the successful confirmation of Trump’s Supreme Court nominee, Neil Gorsuch; the 500,000 new jobs created during the first three months of 2017; the approval of the Keystone XL pipeline long delayed under President Obama; and Trump’s proposals to cut regulations and reform the tax code.
The ad also takes a shot at the mainstream media for allegedly downplaying the President’s accomplishments. “You wouldn’t know it from watching the news,” the narrator declares, as a large “FAKE NEWS” label crosses the screen.
According to a release, the campaign will be spending $1.5 million to air the spot “in major [television] markets throughout the United States” as well as online.
