In New Hampshire — just around the time thousands of pro-life young people braved a blizzard to march for life in Washington — Chris Christie chose to criticize the unnamed pro-lifers who are “extraordinarily divisive,” according to The New York Times:

[Gov. Christie], who has in large party staked the future of his campaign on New Hampshire, also stressed the importance of bipartisanship in government. The state has a sizable bloc of moderate Republicans, as well as a large and unpredictable group of independent voters who are allowed to vote in Republican primaries.

Defending his opposition to funding Planned Parenthood, Mr. Christie criticized some Republicans for having been ‘extraordinarily divisive’ on the issue of abortion. Should he be elected president, Mr. Christie said, he would reach out to Democrats in Congress to try and get big things done.

Having no luck in the crowded conservative lane, Christie is shifting to emphasize his more moderate conservative credentials in New Hampshire. I get that. But could he at least avoid echoing the Left’s nastiest claim that the people standing up for the least among us and the value of every human life are the ones being “divisive” — and not those championing the right to taxpayer funded late-term abortions?
