Jeb Bush Touts Conservative Credentials in New Video

The Bush campaign recently released a video entitled “Conservative.” The video includes clips from Bush’s appearance at CPAC and seems to indicate the manner in which Bush will approach certain issues during the campaign.

On education:

We had the first statewide voucher program, and we had more school choice in Florida, both public and private than any state in the country.

The federal government has no role in the creation of standards either directly or indirectly. The federal government has no role in the creation of curriculum and content. The role of the federal government if there is any, is to provide incentives for more school choice.

On life:

I also believe that the most vulnerable in our society need to be protected. I’m pro-life.

On Immigration:

A great country needs to enforce borders for national security purposes, public health purposes, and the rule of law. Let’s control the border.

There is no plan to deport 11 million people: we should give them a path to legal status, where they work, where they don’t receive government benefits, where they don’t break the law, where they learn English, and where they make a contribution to our society.
