Following the Supreme Court’s decision legalizing same-sex marriage, LGBT activists have decided that they’re not finished. The largest organization working to advance the LGBT agenda recently announced its newest set of goals for the upcoming months—goals which, according to the Witherspoon Institute, include “the most invasive threat to religious liberty ever proposed.”

At the 2015 Chicago gala last weekend, Human Rights Campaign President Chad Griffin unveiled three new areas of focus: passing the Equality Act, stopping the First Amendment Defense Act (FADA), and further “activating the LGBT vote.”

The Equality Act seeks to amend the 1964 Civil Rights Act to add “sexual orientation” and “gender identity” to federal non-discrimination laws.  If it passes, its “sweeping effects on religious liberty, free speech, and freedom of conscience would be historic.” The act would essentially elevate sexual orientation and gender identity to the level of race, therefore equating any dissenters with racists and bigots. It creates a “new form of discrimination” by socially isolating those with a traditional belief in marriage and sexuality.

The Equality Act would also have a devastating effect on protections for individuals and businesses who find it a violation of conscience to provide services for wedding ceremonies. It would prohibit the denial of any good or service to persons on the basis of sexual orientation or gender identity but makes no distinction between baking a cake for a birthday party and baking a cake for a wedding ceremony.

Moreover, the Equality Act would cut the legs out from under the Religious Freedom Restoration Act, barring any individuals, businesses, educational institutions, or religious institutions from appealing to RFRA. The actual effects of the supposed “equality” in the act mean a great inequality at the expense of religious freedom.

To put the nail in the coffin on conscientious objectors, the HRC is also making it a goal to prevent the passage of the First Amendment Defense Act, which would prohibit the federal government from discriminating against persons who still understand marriage as between one man and one woman.

In order to make all of this happen, the HRC is working to “activate the LGBT vote.” Griffin announced to the gala crowd that the 10 million LGBT voters is a higher number than the margin of victory in the past several presidential races.

“In other words,” Griffin said, “we have the power to decide elections.”

There is a real legislative battle on the horizon—our presidential candidates must show that they are ready.

God or tyrants? Many of us chose God, who commands us to love all His children– which would include His gay children. Jimmy Old Boy embraces tyrants, those that worship a “god” who sanctions slavery and commands us to murder disobedient children. You worship depravity.
I pray for your deformed soul.

  • jk105 says:

Wow, Jimmy Old Boy, the self-professed proud to be a bigot, is now using the bozo card!
Maybe it is because Jimbo was caught in yet another lie. So you cannot tell us about the day you supposedly decided to be heterosexual because sexual orientation is not a choice. Why do you reject God and lie?
I pray for your deformed soul.

  • jk105 says:

Poor Jimmy Old Boy! You are proud of being a hateful bigot. You make Jesus vomit.
More promiscuous deflections from Jimmy. You cannot tell us all about the day you supposedly decided to be heterosexual because you lied. That violated one of the Ten Commandments. You reject God.
I pray for your deformed soul.

  • jk105 says:

And like many church-going Christians, We are morally repelled by your anti-gay bigotry.
    You defame Christ.

I wonder how someone who does not use their brain even manages to dress themselves or use a keyboard. You can’t face any decent issue head on can you? That is because you know you have not a leg of truth to stand on so you twist facts, deny truth, and generally lie about everything. What a miserable and unhappy life you must live.
I’m tired of your trolling and hijacking every comment with your lies and false statements. Comment all you want. Over and out bozo.

Me, a bigot? Of course I am according to your definition and thankful to be so!
No one laughing here but you and those who, like you, don’t like truth.
You really are dense, I only say this for the benefit of thinking people, but I have told you I would be happy to inform you concerning your false accusations against me and the God you claim to know. No, of course not you won’t learn the truth but you continue on repeating your lies like a lobotomized escapee from the sanitarium.
My best recommendation: Grow up. It could do wonders for you.

Regarding Fox News, I have never watched even one broadcast.
For intelligent people who use their gray matter the references to God are clear, and any reference to a “generic” god is only imaginary.
Whether I over stated the details or not the fact remains that our Constitution was written for a Christian people and a Christian nation.

    “We have no government armed
with power capable of contending with human passions unbridled by
morality and religion. Avarice, ambition, revenge, or gallantry, would
break the strongest cords of our Constitution as a whale goes through a
net. Our Constitution was made only for a moral and religious people. It
is wholly inadequate to the government of any other.”

Jim144 jk105 Jimmy Old Boy, if you “could show me” you would show me. Instead Jimmy Old Boy squeezes into his cha cha heels and once again deflects!  Why do you lie.   Your promiscuous lies are a violation of one of the Ten Commandments, or don’t you follow them?
Bodily Harm?   Don’t project your own disgusting immoral thoughts onto me.
We don’t have a leg to stand on?  Actually that leg is the constitution, backed up by this country’s Supreme Court.  That’s why bigots like you are howling at the moon.
The Bible reading so-called Christians you share bread with worhip a “god” who sanctions slavery and commands us to murder disobedient children.  Plenty of us church-going Christians are morally repelled by your depravity.

  • jk105 says:

    Jim144 jk105
Lying? Thanks for the comedy show Jimmy Old Boy, the habitual liar. This post board is polluted with your lies. You claimed that the heinous monster Kim Davis had a constitutional right to disobey a court order. You claimed the Bible states your “god” created heterosexuality, not homosexuality. When I asked you to reference places in the constitution and the Bible to back up your delusional claims, you promiscuously dodged the point. You are an authentic bigot.
    .

  • jk105 says:

Jim144 jk105 So the filthy liar Jimmy Old Boy admits I am right. He writes: “even in this redneck area where I happen to live just now inter-racial couples come and go in peace”… That, Jimmy Old Boy, is because people can’t use the Bible’s clear endorsement of slavery as a reason to make their lives a living hell.

  • jk105 says:

Jim144 OutnProud So Jimmy Old Boy was not born heterosexual, is that what this promiscuous liar is writing? So Jimmy Old Boy, do tell us all about the day you choose to be heterosexual.   Be specific.  If you can’t this lie gets added to the mountain of filthy lies you have polluted this site with.
I pray for your deformed soul.

  • OutnProud says:

Jim144 OutnProud Many times? The Constitutions says “Creator” not God or Christ and “in God we trust” was placed on money in 1864 as an act of Congress, not as part of the founding documents. But hey, if Fox News says so you must be right eh?

  • Jim144 says:

    jk105
More lying propaganda from the radical haters on the left. This is not the 1950’s or even the 1980’s even in this redneck area where I happen to live just now inter-racial couples come and go in peace.
Besides, why don’t you stay on topic which has to do with those choosing an aberrant lifestyle attempting to deny rights to all Christian people?

  • Jim144 says:

Quote: Religion, on the other hand, is a choice,
Jim: Yes it is and everyone in the US is free to believe or not.

Quote: and in a pluralistic (that
means many belief systems all operating in the same society)
Jim: So very condescending of you. Conservatives are not idiots, but that ignorant biased judgment is your problem huh?

    Quote: country
such a America, it is un Constitutional to elevate one religion above
another (i.e., what many would like to do with Christianity)
Jim: Did you fail to educate yourself on American History, or did you just ignore the facts? The simple fact is that our Constitution was written FOR a Christian people and a Christian Nation and our Founding Fathers said so in many of their writings. Why do you think God is mentioned so many times in the Constitution, on our money, and almost all of our Federal and State buildings? It is because from the beginning Christianity has ALWAYS been acknowledged as being superior to any other religion on earth because it is the only one that acknowledges the Father, Son, and Holy Spirit as creator!

I doubt I have given you anything you did not know because if you were interested in truth you would have looked it up instead of running around spreading lies, slander, and trying to re-write American History.

As for your proclivities, you were not born with them so my advice is to go live your life as you want to and be thankful you live in a country that tries to live and let live. Instead you seek to destroy the goose that laid the golden egg. Foolish foolish people.

  • Jim144 says:

    jk105 Jim144
I could show you in the Bible where you have misinterpreted and completely misunderstood what you are claiming. However I would be wasting my time because people like yourself are not interested in truth. Your only interest is in bashing those who oppose what you are trying to force upon them. You are not interested in discussion, learning, or teaching, just as you are not interested in peace. I have not one shred of doubt that bodily harm would be inflicted upon every person who opposes your agenda if the opportunity arose.
You and your agenda haven’t a leg to stand on and so you lie, invent, twist, and your favorite tactic is to slander and abuse people. Such dishonesty never won a convert I can tell you now. However I suppose you repeat the same ole mantra over and over because you hope to believe it one day.

So you carry on your name calling, mocking, and bullying like hate filled bigots always do while crying “poor me deprived of my rights”. Go ahead. Decent people know better and Bible reading Christians shake their head at the vast ignorance you display post after post. Frankly, your ignorance is frightening.

  • jk105 says:

I am sorry to see that conservatives think it is “religious liberty” to refuse service to interracial couples because such wedding oppose their version of the Bible. I am a practicing Christian who is morally repelled by this author’s radical bigotry.

  • OutnProud says:

Anna, you are far too young to already be so radicalized, not to mention being such a terribly uneducated writer.

So let’s unpack your little article, k?

“The Equality Act seeks to amend the 1964 Civil Rights Act to add “sexual orientation” and “gender identity” to federal non-discrimination laws.  If it passes, its “sweeping effects on religious liberty, free speech, and freedom of conscience would be historic.” The act would essentially elevate sexual orientation and gender identity to the level of race, therefore equating any dissenters with racists and bigots. It creates a “new form of discrimination” by socially isolating those with a traditional belief in marriage and sexuality.”

YES. The Equality Act would add sexual orientation as a protected class. Like race, a person’s sexual orientation is an immutable characteristic. A person is born with it, and despite debunked quackery like “conversion therapies”, they cannot change it. True, they may choose to be chaste or be refrain from any sexual activity. But that will not change their attractions. Even if they go to prison, like Ben Carson seems to think, they will not be changing their orientation, only their behavior. Just ask Randy Thomas.

Religion, on the other hand, is a choice, and in a pluralistic (that means many belief systems all operating in the same society) country such a America, it is un Constitutional to elevate one religion above another (i.e., what many would like to do with Christianity) or to “state sanction” any religion – which the FADA, would do. Under the Equality Act, people like you would be able to speak out against my marriage all you like. You could still go to church and call me a sinner, a sodomite, all the other names you have always called me. You could write columns about it, and people would be free to comment on them, all in the name of whatever God they choose. You just wouldn’t be able to use your religion to deny me service in a restaurant, law office, bank, medical center, a lease on an apartment or YES even deny my service in a florist or cake shop. By the way, those cases are losing already, and badly. If you think that baking a cake or arranging flowers makes you part of a “wedding”, perhaps you need to rethink your own marriage.

No, all these last little gasps like the FADA are just a way for a side who has lost the battle to try to cling to some small shred of bigotry, even in the face of losing polls and public opinion. Like George Wallace standing in the door of the school, you cannot stop our society from progressing to a more-inclusive, more diverse place that makes room for all people to continue their pursuit of happiness.

Gay people are not making you “socially isolated.” You are doing it to yourselves, in combination with the rampant hypocrisy that runs through your side’s strident anti-gay rhetoric. Like the joke that is Kim Davis, cherry picking which sinners she will and will not civilly   license as a civil servant. Like Baronelle Stuzman, deciding to arrange a bouquet for an adulteress or a fornicator, but not a gay couple. Like Melissa, who bakes cakes for divorcees entering a second marriage, but not for a gay couple entering their first.

Keep grasping at straws. There aren’t many of those left.

  • jk105 says:

Jim144 Yes Jimmy Old Boy, ever since we outlawed slavery your “Bible-Believing” bigots have  been howling at the moon.    Evil is you Jimmy, who worships a god who sanctions slavery and commands us to kill disobedient children.   Evil is you Jimmy, who admires the heinous monster Kim Davis, who uses the brute force of government to deny couples their religious liberty and constitutional rights.

I pray for your deformed soul.

I’m 63 years old and have known times like this were coming since my Grandma and Grandpa used to tell me about such things. Even so it is like living in a nightmare sometime and I wonder how I got to this planet and how can I get back to earth.
These people are simply mad, their brain is so infected with their love of sin and corruption it has made them to become like rabid dogs. They know the difference between good and evil but they hate good as much as some of us hate evil.
First and foremost our country needs Godly Bible believing Christians to pray and speak up, and we need politicians with some conviction and the backbone to stand upon those convictions. May God help us.
