Planned Parenthood’s Massive Plan to Win Virginia Senate Fails

State Senator Dick Black of Northern Virginia has been the bane of leftists’ existence in Virginia for years with his staunch advocacy for the unborn. He sponsored Virginia’s 24-hour waiting period law, proposed a bill to require abortionists to administer anesthesia to the unborn baby, and has been fearless in his defense of life since he was first elected to the General Assembly in 1998.

This year, Planned Parenthood (along with EMILY’s List, NARAL, and Human Rights Campaign) made Black their prime target in the 2015 Virginia elections, aiming to make this the race pro-abortion Democrats would win to wrest control of the one-seat majority held by Republicans. They picked a challenger, a radically pro-abortion woman named Jill McCabe. They poured an unprecedented $200,000 into the race to defeat Black. McCabe outraised Black by nearly 2-to-1.

And on Tuesday, they failed — big time. Black won by 5 points. And across the state, Virginia voters kept Republicans in the majority in the state Senate in a crushing blow to Hillary Clinton’s BFF, Gov. Terry McAuliffe.

Do these results spell trouble for the left in 2016 in Virginia, a battleground state? You bet they do.
