Rand Paul Promises Vote to Defund Planned Parenthood “Before We Go Home in August”

Rand Paul took a strong position on the Planned Parenthood scandal Tuesday during a pro-life rally in Washington, calling for an immediate vote to defund Planned Parenthood and taking Hillary Clinton to task for accepting money from the controversial organization.

Video and a transcript of his remarks are below:

Today we take a stand.  And today I have good news.  The United States Senate will vote on defunding Planned Parenthood before we go home in August.

I have three kids and some of my fondest memories are of looking at our kids through the ultrasound.  I still have pictures of my kids from before they were born.  Moving around, fighting, moving their arms.  They were already playing sports it seems.  We were so proud of seeing those pictures knowing something special was coming.

But we now find out that Planned Parenthood today is using the ultrasound to manipulate the baby into a position to harvest the organs.  This callous disregard expressed over wine and cheese should inflame and infuriate us all, and we should stop once and for all any penny of money going to Planned Parenthood.

And I’m calling today for Hillary Clinton to return the money she’s been receiving from Planned Parenthood officials.

The time is now to take stand.  I want to stand with you for life, and we all need to stand together to end this atrocity.

After the speech, Sen. Paul told The Pulse’s Jon Schweppe that he hadn’t seen the third video released by the Center for Medical Progress yet but would weigh in soon.
