A Burisma executive told a Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI) source he would have to pay “$5 million for one Biden, $5 million for the other Biden” to ease his entry into the U.S. oil market, per a document known as “FD-1023” which the FBI is trying to keep from Congress.
The Ukrainian energy executive told the source referenced in FD-1023 he had to “pay the Bidens,” namely Joe Biden and his son Hunter, due to the difficulties created for his firm by Viktor Shokin, a Ukrainian prosecutor investigating Burisma. Shokin was later fired at after Vice President Biden openly blackmailed the government.
The source suggested the executive could “pay the Bidens $50,000 each,” but the executive quickly corrected him: “not $50,000… $5 million.”
The source believes the payments were issued, with the Burisma executive, who referred to then-Burisma board member Hunter Biden as “dumb”, saying he was confident investigators would be unable to “unravel this for at least 10 years” due the “many different bank accounts” the funds were routed through.
FD-1023 has not been released in full to Congress, with descriptions of its contents coming from sources who have viewed a redacted version. Senators Chuck Grassley and Lindsey Graham have written to the FBI demanding they turn it over the Congress uncensored and reveal whether or not they have investigated the allegations.
“The FBI’s continued efforts to hide relevant facts from Congress and the American people, as well as its failure to describe any investigative steps taken, will not repair its tarnished reputation,” they warn.
