After 40 Years, This Policy Has Saved 2 Million Lives — And Hillary Wants to End It

Today marks the 40th anniversary of the Hyde Amendment, bipartisan policy that prevents taxpayer funds from being used to pay for abortion on-demand through Medicaid. For decades, the Hyde Amendment — named for its lead proponent, the great pro-life Congressman Henry Hyde — has protected unborn children as well as the conscience rights of pro-life taxpayers who do not want to be complicit in abortion. A new report from the Charlotte Lozier Institute calculates that because of the Hyde Amendment, more than two million people — each one of them created and sent to this world for a purpose —

“Honoring” Planned Parenthood on Its 100th Anniversary

According to the Washington Examiner, 19 Senate Democrats have introduced a resolution recognizing Planned Parenthood for the 100th anniversary of its founding, which took place on October 16, 1916: “The resolution, spearheaded by Sen. Ron Wyden, D-Ore., praises the women’s health and abortion provider for leading significant changes in women’s health and civil rights, being at the forefront of social change and playing a major role in increasing access to abortion, contraception and sex education. “It also calls for an end of efforts to strip federal funds from the group, which Republicans in Congress tried hard to do last year

Pence in Iowa: “Donald Trump Will Advance the Cause of Life”

Republican vice presidential nominee Mike Pence was in Iowa this weekend where he addressed social conservatives at the annual Iowa Faith and Freedom Coalition dinner. During his remarks, Pence reiterated his full confidence in Donald Trump and made the case for Trump’s candidacy as a response to the increasing threats to Americans’ fundamental liberties: “For the sake of the sanctity of life and all of our God-given liberties, Iowa let’s ensure that the next president making appointments to the Supreme Court of the United States of America is president Donald Trump,” Pence said to a standing ovation. “In these challenging times, Donald

Trump Makes Several Key Pro-Life Commitments, Launches Pro-Life Coalition

Donald Trump is doing everything he can to make it clear to the pro-life movement: “I’m With You.” This week Trump tapped Marjorie Dannenfelser, president of the Susan B. Anthony List and a frequent contributor to The Pulse 2016, to head up his pro-life coalition. Politico reports: Dannenfelser will seek to mobilize “national and statewide anti-abortion leaders, with a particular emphasis on people in battleground states,” to activate their “spheres of influence” in support of the Trump campaign, said SBA List spokeswoman Mallory Quigley. The addition of Dannenfelser, a onetime sharp critic of Trump, to a leadership role on behalf of

Mike Pence Promises a Trump Presidency Will Stand for Life

If there was ever any question about who pro-life voters should support on Election Day, Mike Pence — who has championed pro-life initiatives in Congress and as governor of Indiana — cleared it up over the weekend. At the annual Values Voter Summit on Saturday, Gov. Pence once again demonstrated his deep roots in the pro-life movement as well as his unyielding commitment to working alongside Donald Trump to protect life in the White House. “The Trump-Pence administration will stand for the sanctity of life and defend the unborn from the first day we take office,” he said, before reiterating specific

PolitiFact Gets the Facts Wrong on Democrats and Abortion

On August 2, Ohio Right to Life (Ohio RTL) blasted the state’s former governor, Ted Strickland, for his position on abortion. A Democrat, Strickland is running a close Senate race against incumbent Rob Portman, a Republican. According to Ohio RTL: “Ted Strickland stands in lockstep with Hillary Clinton and the abortion lobby in their desire to force Americans to pay for abortion on demand, up until the moment of birth, with their taxpayer dollars.” Last week, the national fact-checking website PolitiFact accused Ohio RTL of taking Strickland out of context, declaring the statement to be “Mostly False.” However, PolitiFact’s assessment
