Rubio Shows Some Fire… Now Let’s See More

Marco Rubio made news on Wednesday when he sent out this tweet:

Kudos to Rubio for standing up for life and aggressively going after Planned Parenthood. All of the GOP presidential candidates need to stand up on this issue.

Now, look, this might be baseless conjecture, but I have a theory: I think Marco Rubio ACTUALLY sent out this tweet.

As most of us know, nearly all candidate tweets are sent out by staffers after going through a lengthy approval process. This tweet had multiple grammatical errors and slightly awkward phrasing. . . and it looks very different from the typical Marco Rubio tweet. I think he impulsively wrote this tweet himself.

And honestly, that is fantastic! He’s showing passion. He took a risk. That passion and risk-taking seems to be the one thing missing from his campaign right now.

Rubio has the potential to be a great candidate, but he has to show the voters some fire. This is a 17 candidate GOP primary—nobody will win by playing it safe. Conservatives want a fighter, as Deal Hudson wrote yesterday.

I hope Marco sees the success of this impulsive tweet and wields this passion going forward. It’s what he needs to do to emerge as the viable candidate we all know he can be.
