Trump Dodges on Religious Liberty Again

A report from “The Brody File” on Donald Trump was aired last week, which included responses from the current GOP front runner on marriage and religious liberty.  You can watch the full report and read the transcript of Trump’s responses below:

NARRATION: While evangelicals may never see him as “Pastor Trump,” they do want to see more substance, especially on issues like the rights of Christian business owners who may not want to bake a cake for a gay wedding.

DAVID BRODY: How concerned are you about their religious liberty rights that are under attack? If they don’t want to bake a cake for a gay wedding?

DONALD TRUMP: You’re right, and I’m very concerned about it, and a lot of, you know, there’s going to be a lot of law issued about it,” Trump said.

NARRATION: And speaking of the law, Trump says he disagrees with the Supreme Court ruling on same-sex marriage.

TRUMP: We have some very terrible Supreme Court justices, and frankly, they should have at least had that [same-sex marriage case] as a state’s right issue.

NARRATION: Trump does, however, consider gay marriage the law of the land and that puts him at odds with some of his evangelical rivals.
