Cruz Super PAC Releases Two New Ads Attacking Trump

Start

Keep the Promise, a super PAC supporting Ted Cruz, just released two new ads going after Donald Trump’s current stances based on his past record. The first ad, called “Extreme,” shows Trump in a 1999 Meet the Press interview in which he said he was “very pro-choice”:

The second ad, “I Like Ted Cruz,” highlights Trump’s past comments in praise of Cruz:

In a statement, the super PAC’s president, Kellyanne Conway, said the first ad shows conservatives and Republicans that one of their choices is closer to Democratic candidate Hillary Clinton than to former President Ronald Reagan.

She said of the second ad: “Trump has gone from self-anointed BFF to critic-in-chief. The mean and personal attacks on Cruz are at odds with Trump’s praise of Cruz as a ‘a special guy’ and ‘very, very popular’. Will voters be bullied into believing the bluster, or stick with a brilliant man who won’t betray them?”
