Watch: NARAL Creates Ridiculous Pro-Abortion “Comedy” Video

Since the Supreme Court’s Roe v. Wade decision in 1973, pro-abortion liberals have been claiming that abortion ought to be “safe, legal, and rare.” However, a recent NARAL video completely undermines that mantra.

Mimicking the style of Jerry Seinfeld’s “Comedians in Cars Getting Coffee,” the video portrays two comedians driving around looking for a place to get an abortion.

Early in the video, “Silicon Valley” actress Alice Wetterlund tries justifying abortion by saying “We don’t need any more of them [children] in the world.”

One thing ought to be clear: NARAL does not want abortion to be rare. NARAL wants to normalize abortion through comedy.

This is, of course, the growing fashion among pro-choice activists. Leftist academics have questioned the idea that abortion should be rare. Feminist websites post columns ranting about the phrase. Popular leftist blogger Jessica Valenti even urged Hillary Clinton to abandon the “safe, legal, and rare” mantra.

“We can focus on keeping abortions safe and legal. We should also work harder to make sure they’re affordable, accessible and judgment free. But let’s not bolster anti-choice rhetoric and activism by calling for them to be ‘rare’ — especially since there are so many working to ensure that ‘rare’ is an enforced standard, not just a talking point,” Valenti wrote in a 2014 column.

In February, Hillary Clinton embraced this radical abortion rhetoric, even going so far as to support late-term abortion on-demand — a position 84 percent of Americans strongly oppose.

Abortion clinics have even begun imposing quotas on their workers, putting profit ahead of people going through crises.

The pro-abortion left looks to remove all stigmas from the procedure, to divorce it from any sense of guilt or regret. This NARAL video is just another step in this odious agenda of normalizing abortion.

The NARAL video gets worse, though. They make a mockery of even the assertion that abortion ought to be safe.

One of the scenes in the NARAL video, meant to lampoon laws enacted by Republicans to improve safety in abortion clinics, implies that these laws are completely arbitrary, meant only to discourage women from seeking abortions.

Government authorities inspect abortion clinics less frequently than tanning salons. Horrific atrocities like the ones committed by abortionist Kermit Gosnell pass under the radar for years without any kind of oversight from safety regulators. California, where the NARAL video is set, has virtually no regulations or restrictions regarding abortion on the books.

On top of all this, the creators of the video even have the gall to end the video with the slogan, “It shouldn’t be this hard to get an abortion.” The nearly 60 million unborn Americans aborted since Roe v. Wade beg to differ.

All this goes to show that NARAL, and the pro-abortion ideologues that support the group, could not care less if abortion was rare or safe. They simply want to make it legal and normal, no matter the costs.
