Trump Proclamation Reaffirms Value of All Children “From Conception”

Whether you are with President Trump or stand opposed, it is an undeniable fact that his actions have established him as one of the most pro-life presidents in recent decades. This was made clear once again during his recent proclamation of April 2018 as National Child Abuse Prevention Month:

“Every child is a precious and unique gift who deserves the security of a loving and nurturing home,” the President stated. “When supported by encouraging families and safe, strong communities, all children have the chance to reach their full potential and access the unlimited opportunities that our great Nation has to offer. To realize this truth, we must dedicate ourselves to the noble cause of protecting and caring for our children.”

The proclamation pointed out the horror of child abuse and the impact it has had on our country, citing $124 billion as the total economic cost, in addition to the immeasurable emotional and physical trauma. Trump’s statement also touched on the warning indicators displayed in children who are being abused and how outsiders may be able to detect such acts occurring.

The real surprise, however, came later in the proclamation, when the President stated:

We must always remember that all children are blessings from our Creator. They are endowed from conception with value, purpose, and human dignity.

Breitbart pointed out that this excerpt mirrored pro-life language previously used by President Trump elsewhere — specifically, the wording used in the proclamation of January 22nd, 2018 as National Sanctity of Human Life Day, which stated in part:

This is why we observe National Sanctity of Human Life Day: to affirm the truth that all life is sacred, that every person has inherent dignity and worth, and that no class of people should ever be discarded as ‘non-human.’

As Trump has been making leaps and bounds for the pro-life movement, the pro-life community at large has pulled together on multiple occasions to recognize and honor such actions. In 2017, he was named Operation Rescue’s “Pro-Life Person of the Year,” and was bestowed with their Malachi Award.

“Since Trump took office, he has accomplished more for the pro-life agenda than any other president to recognize individuals who sacrificially work to advance the cause of protecting the pre-born,” the group stated in explaining the reasoning behind the award.
