Leftist activists and Democrat senators have spent the last four days making fools of themselves during the Senate Judiciary Committee hearings on Supreme Court nominee Brett Kavanaugh.
Anyone who has watched the hearings on television has heard the shrill shrieks of leftist agitators, screaming about how Kavanaugh is going to take away their health care or “reproductive rights.” The interruptions have been constant — by one senator’s count, there had been over 200 interruptions over the first three days. There are a limited number of seats open to the public, and, according to some reports, the disruptors are being paid to be there.
By this point, the Capitol Police have gotten ejections down to a science — they’ve been able to scope out which people are likely to make a disruption, and they have a chain of officers who can force them out of the room in a matter of seconds:
Then there was the moment when Senator Cory Booker (D-N.J.) made an idiot of himself. Having found no scandal with which to tar Kavanaugh, the Democrats have focused on the thousands of documents from Kavanaugh’s time as staff secretary in President George W. Bush’s White House. Some documents have been made public, while others containing sensitive or classified information were deemed “committee confidential,” meaning only senators were allowed to examine them.
So Booker declared on live television that he was ready and willing to break Senate rules by releasing those documents to the general public:
But there’s just one problem with Cory “Spartacus” Booker’s stunt: The emails he released had already been cleared for public release hours before and were no longer confidential. It’s abundantly clear that this stunt was meant to bolster Booker’s standing with the far-left base of the Democratic Party ahead of the 2020 midterms.
Any American who sees these hearings is witnessing the beclowning of the Democratic Party. They are not interested in having a serious conversation about Judge Kavanaugh or his credentials. They don’t care that he was given a “highly qualified” label from the American Bar Association, the highest recommendation they can give — and it was unanimous, by the way. They just want a wild show that will placate a far-left base which is upset that they aren’t going to be able to stop his confirmation.
Normal Americans know this isn’t normal behavior. Will they remember these moments when they vote in November?
