New Planned Parenthood President Still a Grave Threat to the Unborn

Planned Parenthood Federation of America is under new leadership. The abortion giant announced late last week that outgoing president Cecile Richards is being replaced by former Baltimore Health Commissioner Leana Wen.

While Richards was one of the abortion industry’s biggest advocates, pro-lifers should not overlook her successor — in fact, Wen may be an even bigger threat to the fight for life. Here are three key details to know about her:

1.) Wen is a medical doctor.

While Richards’ background was as a liberal political activist, Wen is a medical doctor who is now at the helm of an organization that takes the lives of thousands of innocent children each year. As a trained physician, Wen has sworn to uphold the Hippocratic Oath, which requires its adherents to “do no harm.”

If she is willing to so coldly advocate for the destruction of life while still claiming the mantle of a doctor determined to “do no harm,” what isn’t Wen willing to do?

2.) Wen comes from a Chinese background.

There is a grim irony in having a Chinese woman lead one of the largest abortion providers in the United States. China still officially enforces a two-child policy, and forced abortions are frequent — sources estimate that 13 million children are aborted there each year, and the odds are stacked against Chinese girls. Wen’s defense of abortion especially surprising given that, if her family’s situation had been even slightly different, she easily could have been a victim of abortion herself instead of coming to America as a child.

3.) Wen is a relentless defender of fake Planned Parenthood statistics.

The second she stepped into leadership, Wen immediately took over the misinformation campaign that Richards had begun. Ever since, she has been busy defending the fake statistics continuously pushed by Planned Parenthood.

During a segment on The View, Wen stated that no government dollars go to fund abortions and that abortions only make up a tiny percentage of services the organization provides (both claims which have been debunked). She has also wasted no time in advancing the false arguments of the abortion industry, and nothing indicates she will soon back off from this blatant propaganda.

Cecile Richards may have been a hostile enemy of the pro-life movement, but she was at least a familiar foe to pro-lifers. Now, her replacement is a young woman, a new mother, and vehemently determined to support abortion, regardless of the horrifying realities that accompany it. Despite the change in leadership, the battle to save unborn lives continues.
