Anti-Trump British Ambassador Investigated For Leaking Classified White House Intel To CNN Reporter And Lover

British Ambassador to the U.S. Kim Darroch was investigated by U.S. officials for potentially leaking confidential White House secrets to a reporter from CNN he was engaged in an extramarital affair with.

While Darroch, who resigned from his post after unearthed cables revealed him slamming President Trump as “inept” and “insecure,” was ultimately cleared of leaking stories to CNN reporter Michelle Kosinski, it appears allegations that the pair had an extramarital affair are true.

Kosinski, who is 20 years younger than Darroch and also married, caught the attention of U.S. authorities, leaving them “astonished” with her comprehensive reporting on sensitive matters as a diplomatic correspondent for CNN. Kosinski, who was described by Washington insiders as “not well-connected,” left her role just five months after Darroch’s departure.

According to The Sun:

“The Sun understands he had begun his affair with Kosinski, who is also married, by the beginning of 2018. They swapped intimate messages, seen by The Sun, detailing plans for secret hook-ups. But as their relationship developed, Kosinski’s scoops began to attract the attention of senior White House officials.
Kosinski obtained several exclusive scoops concerning U.S. sanctions against Russia and the expulsion of Russian diplomats.
