Senator Richard Blumenthal repeatedly hounded Facebook founder and CEO Mark Zuckerberg to remove Steve Bannon from his social media platform.

The Connecticut Senator referenced a report that Zuckerberg defended his decision to not ban Bannon and his show War Room: Pandemic from Facebook to his employees before inquiring “how many times is Steve Bannon allowed to call for the murder of government officials before Facebook suspends his account?”

The discussion centered around remarks the former White House Chief Strategist made using the historical allusion and metaphor of “putting heads on pikes” in reference to Anthony Fauci and Christopher Wray.

In response, Zuckerberg described that “having a content violation does not automatically mean your account gets taken down and the number of strikes varies on the type of offense.”

“If people are posting terrorist content or child exploitation content then the first time they do it we will take down their account. For other things, it’s multiple,” he adds.

Blumenthal follows up with “will you commit to taking down that account.”

“Senator, no. That’s not what our policies would suggest we should do in this case.”
