Former Trump supporter-turned-DeSantis sycophant Bill ‘Biff’ Mitchell has been left with egg on his face after attempting to mount a pressure campaign to have Donald Trump disavow The National Pulse editor-in-chief Raheem Kassam over his traditional British use of “the c-word”.
Mitchell launched a poll on Twitter, where he supposedly has over 410,000 followers, asking: “Should President Trump disavow misogynist [Raheem Kassam] for constantly using the c-word in his posts while attacking DeSantis supporters?”
It’s unclear why DeSantis supporters are – like the far left – now trying to label Kassam a “misogynist” as well as a “racist” and “homophobe”, but Mitchell’s attempts failed spectacularly. He lost his own poll by a landslide 78 to 22 percent after almost 4,000 votes.
Far from being disavowed by Trump, Kassam received a personal shout-out from former President Donald Trump at his screening of Sound of Freedom in Bedminster later the same day.
The humiliating defeat underlines how little clout Mitchell has, especially after his decision to turn against Trump in favor of DeSantis in January.
In 2016, Mitchell was over-the-top in his feigned devotion to Trump, wearing a Super Bowl-style ring with ‘PRESIDENT TRUMP’ engraved on it and claiming to “live vicariously” through the MAGA kingpin. Now, Mitchell says he agrees with DeSantis that Trump “should have done more” to stop January 6th.
Whether Mitchell was ever an asset to the Trump camp is an open question, as much of his former notoriety was owed to those who found him ridiculous and regularly shared his content for the purpose of mocking him.
Mitchell has claimed he will “retire” from commentary if Ron DeSantis does not win the Republican nomination, which appears to have driven him to an increasingly delusional perspective on the GOP primary, insisting the Florida Governor is “everywhere and killing every interview” as well as “owning [the] media” despite his dismal poll numbers and repeated campaign reboots.
