Former New York City Mayor Rudy Giuliani left the 9/11 memorial ceremony early on Monday, protesting the presence of Vice President Kamala Harris and Secretary of Homeland Security Alejandro Mayorkas. Giuliani is credited with his steadfast leadership of the city during the deadly and horrific terrorist attacks 22 years ago.
In an interview with Newsmax host Greg Kelly, Giuliani expressed his concerns about the current state of national security, saying that he believes the country is in more danger under President Joe Biden’s government than it was before 9/11.
Giuliani specifically criticized Harris and Mayorkas, citing the unchecked flow of undocumented immigrants crossing the border without the government having proper knowledge of their identities. He also condemned Harris for comparing the January 6 Capitol riots to the 9/11 attacks and the 1941 Japanese attack on Pearl Harbor, which he described as an “unbelievable insult” to the victims of these tragedies.
Giuliani, who was mayor of New York City during the 9/11 terrorist attacks, expressed his frustration with the Democrats’ characterization of the Capitol riots and highlighted the significant loss of life and ongoing health consequences resulting from the horrific attacks on 9/11. He disputed the claim that the Capitol riots were an insurrection and emphasized that no one has been convicted of such a charge.
