Patrick Wojahn, a former Democrat mayor of College Park, Maryland has been sentenced to 30 years in prison after pleading guilty to dozens of charges relating to the possession of child pornography. The 30-year sentence (150 in total with 120 years suspended) comes after Wojahn reached an agreement with prosecutors, pleading guilty in August to 140 counts related to the possession and distribution of materials depicting child sexual abuse.
A mover and shaker in Democrat political circles, Wojahn described U.S. Secretary of Transportation Pete Buttigieg as a ‘friend’ and mentor. In an interview with the Washington Blade, a gay news site, Wojahn said: “I actually met Mayor Pete Buttigieg shortly after I was elected mayor in 2015. I went to the U.S. Conference of Mayors’ Winter Meeting in D.C. in January, and he was assigned to be my buddy.”
According to Wojahn, he and Buttigieg chatted regularly on the phone with the Transportation Secretary advising him on issues he may face as mayor of College Park.
Between 2021 and his arrest in March of 2023, Wojahn visited the White House on at least six occasions according to visitor logs. The former Democrat mayor and child predator posted numerous photos of his visits on his social media. At least one of Wojahn’s White House visits was to attend a Gay Pride Month event where both President Joe Biden and Secretary Buttigieg spoke. Wojahn posted a photo from the event featuring himself with Secretary Buttiegieg and the Secretary’s husband Chasten, the caption reading: “Always great to see these guys at the White House!!”
As mayor, Wojahn outlined a plan to use taxpayer dollars to underwrite transgender surgeries for city residents seeking gender reassignment. The Democrat mayor resigned from office on March 1st, 2023 ahead of his arrest byPrince George’s County police the next day.
