GOP presidential candidate Nikki Haley appeared to acknowledge her impending defeat in the Iowa Caucus during a rally in New to New Hampshire on Wednesday, with just two weeks left before the state’s critical primary.
The former South Carolina governor and U.N. ambassador told supporters, “You know how to do this. You know Iowa starts it. You know that you correct it, and then my sweet state of South Carolina brings it home.” The statement is an implicit admission that Haley expects to perform poorly in the Iowa Caucus on January 15.

Haley has been steadily gaining traction in New Hampshire, with a poll average of over 25 percent as of January 3. The rivalry between Haley and Trump has also escalated along with Haley’s rising poll numbers, as the former president’s campaign launched its first advertisement criticizing Haley in New Hampshire earlier this week. Haley still trails Trump by nearly 20 points in the Granite State.
