Maintenance Left a Flashlight In An F-35 Jet Engine. It Cost $14M & Totaled the Aircraft.

A flashlight, mistakenly left in the engine of an F-35 fighter jet on a U.S. Air Force base in Arizona, was inadvertently sucked into the aircraft’s engine, causing irreparable damage valued at $14 million. This incident occurred on March 15, 2023, during a routine maintenance ground run at Luke Air Force Base outside Glendale, according to a newly released branch report.

The 19-page document, issued Thursday, explained that the crucial blunder occurred when a maintainer used and overlooked a flashlight inside the engine inlet during an inspection. After the examination, the jet’s engine was fired up for five minutes, testing for potential fuel leaks. The foreign object was not detected until after the engine was switched off and the maintainer reported hearing an unusual noise from the decelerating engine.

Further probing led to the startling discovery of “significant damage” to the $14 million engine, forcing the maintainer to concede, “I believe I just ingested a flashlight.”  No injuries were reported in the incident, and investigators concluded that the maintainer “failed to clear the inlet of foreign objects after completing the required inspections for an engine run after they exited the aircraft inlet.”

UN, Hamas Say 25,000 Killed in Gaza.

The Hamas-run Gaza health ministry announced that Israel’s war against the Muslim Brotherhood in the form of Hamas has resulted in the death of 25,000 Palestinians, a majority being women and children. The UN secretary general, António Guterres, condemned the assault during his speech at the G77+China summit, declaring it “heartbreaking and utterly unacceptable.” The fighting is due to a massive terror attack by Hamas in Southern Israel, which killed an estimated 1,200 individuals, primarily civilians. Hamas took roughly 250 hostages at the time, 132 of which remain in Gaza.

Israeli forces continue their advance into parts of Gaza. It is estimated that a million displaced individuals have sought refuge in the border town of Rafah, living in makeshift camps, private apartments, and UN shelters. Hostilities are intensified with renewed fighting in the north and Israeli forces struggling to clear areas of Hamas militants utilizing underground tunnels.

Hamas government’s media office reports that due to continued artillery shelling, many of the dead and wounded are unable to be transferred to hospitals. The Israeli military spokesperson, Daniel Hagari, reported the discovery of a tunnel in Khan Younis where hostages had been kept, along with evidence of their presence. Benjamin Netanyahu, the prime minister, rejected US President Joe Biden’s call for Palestinian statehood, maintaining the stance that Israel should retain security control over Gaza post-conflict.

Zelensky Says Trump’s Peace Talk is ‘Dangerous’ and Makes Him ‘Stressed’.

Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy has voiced concerns over Donald Trump’s peace rhetoric, calling it “very dangerous” and claiming it is “a little scary” and “making me a bit stressed.”

The comments came during a Channel 4 (UK) interview and highlight that Zelensky has been trying to prolong the war with Russia, perhaps fearing his own ouster on the tail end of any peace deal. He made similar comments three months ago, around the same time it was revealed that Biden’s White House was actively scuppering peace talks.

“(Trump) is going to make decisions on his own, without… I’m not even talking about Russia, but without both sides, without us,” Zelenskyy said. “If he says this publicly, that’s a little scary. I’ve seen a lot, a lot of victims, but that’s really making me a bit stressed.”

Zelensky’s regime has been plagued with allegations of corruption, mismanagement, and failed war strategy. He has banned opposition political parties and canceled elections, all with the support of the Western world, as evidenced by recent comments by Kiev’s mayor and plummeting popularity numbers.

PHEW!!! 😮‍💨 Trump Rules Out Haley as VP.

Former President Donald Trump disqualified Nimrata ‘Nikki’ Haley as a potential running mate for the 2024 election during a campaign rally in Concord, New Hampshire on Friday night. Trump stated that Haley, who he previously appointed as UN Ambassador during his administration, was “not of the timber” for vice presidency. His comments came a few hours after Haley publicly stated that being Trump’s running mate was “off the table.”

Trump said of Haley, “Nikki is somebody that puts America last. She is not presidential timber.” He further explained his statement by clarifying his sentiment, “when you say certain things, it sort of takes them out of play, right? I can’t say, ‘She’s not of the timber to be a vice…’ and then say, ‘Ladies and gentlemen, I’m proud to announce that I’ve picked…’ Do you understand?”

Before his Friday campaign rally, Trump had not completely discounted the possibility of Haley as his 2024 running mate, despite resistance from close allies and supporters, such as Donald Trump Jr., Roger Stone, and former Fox News anchor, Tucker Carlson, who claimed Haley “would be reason to oppose the ticket.” Earlier this month, former White House chief strategist, Steve Bannon, anticipated a “big fight” to determine the direction of the Trump campaign and the potential selection of Haley as Trump’s running mate.

REPORT: More Journos Than Voters at Haley Events.

A report published Friday suggests more corporate news staffers than voters are attending Nimrata ‘Nikki’ Haley’s events in New Hampshire, just three days before the Granite State’s primary.

Filing for the Spectator, the anonymized ‘Cockburn’ claims:

Cockburn found a strange scene as he pulled up at Robie’s Country Store in Hooksett Thursday: sure enough, there Haley was, stood outside giving a TV interview alongside her biggest endorser, Governor Chris Sununu, ten minutes ahead of the scheduled start time. After finding parking, Cockburn attempted to enter the store, as Haley and Sununu had just done. But the entrance was blocked by people trying get in: was demand on the ground for Haley in the Granite State really so high? Should we expect an upset that will change the Republican race?

Those questions were answered as soon as Cockburn managed to sidle into the store: it was full alright… of reporters and cameramen, with bulky equipment. There were a smattering of voters in attendance, sitting down or pressed against the walls — but to Cockburn’s eye, it was the media occupying most of the space.

Haley spent all of ten minutes in the store — the schedule said she’d be there an hour — before heading out. “Are you scared of Donald Trump?” a reporter asked her on the way out. “Are you kidding me?” she slyly responded.

Sununu stayed around for a little longer than his candidate of choice, shaking hands with his state’s constituents. He was wearing a “Ski NH” quarterzip — so Cockburn asked him whether any of the presidential hopefuls had hit the slopes in his state. Sununu said that he wasn’t aware that any had — “I don’t know if I could see Donald Trump on a snowboard although I’d love to give him a good push…”

It was a similar story in Amherst this morning at Mary Ann’s Diner, where Cockburn arrived twenty minutes early. The raised area overlooking the front of the restaurant was crammed full of TV cameras; News Nation’s Leland Vittert, CNN’s David Chalian and Newsmax’s Mark Halperin were loitering.

“There are empty tables and I have her just about to arrive,” a Haley staffer said, as other acolytes worked to move diners from the back of the restaurant to the front, to compose a fuller shot for the cameras. Haley breezed in and did the rounds, taking time to speak to every diner, fielding questions on foreign policy, January 6 and her VP pick. She was escorted around by a female aide dressed almost exactly like her, who’d brought in coffee from a more upmarket café in Manchester.

‘MAGA COUNTRY!’ — Rep. Barbara Lee Says ‘White Guy’ Stopped Her Entering Congressional Elevator, Asked Whose Lapel Pin She Stole.

Representative Barbara Lee has claimed “a white guy” tried to stop her from using a Capitol elevator reserved for Congressmen, accusing her of having stolen a pin identifying her as a lawmaker.

“I was walking from the House building on Capitol Hill to the Capitol, and a man, a white guy, stopped me and told me I could not get into the Members’ elevator,” Rep. Lee told CNN.

“You know, we have pins, and I was going to vote, and he blocked me from getting into the elevator. He told me I was not a Member of Congress, and it was for Members only,” the 77-year-old continued.

“I said, ‘Sir, I’m a member of Congress,’ and I showed him my pin, and he said: ‘Whose pin did you steal?'”

The California Democrat, who chairs the Congressional Black Caucus, said the alleged incident was an example of “personal racism.” In 2019, actor Jussie Smollett claimed he had been involved in a similar incident in Chicago, involving two attackers shouting “this MAGA country, n****r!” and hanging a noose around his neck.

It later turned out Smollett had staged the attack with the help of two Nigerian migrants, however.

“Racism, institutional racism, is in the DNA of this country,” Lee went on to claim, citing “the genocide of Native Americans” and “250 years plus of enslaving African-Americans” alongside “disparities” like “the wealth gap.”

“You can’t tell me that systemic racism does not exist,” she said, complaining about conservative efforts “in terms of eliminating Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion,” which she claimed creates “an equal and level playing field.”

Rep. Lee’s colleague, Rep. Jamaal Bowman, recently suggested leveling the playing field for black Americans by printing $14 trillion and distributing it to them as reparations.

Study: Pfizer’s COVID Vaccine Linked To ‘Autism-Like’ Symptoms In Neo-Natal Rats.

A study published by Turkish researchers in Istanbul raises new concerns over Pfizer-BioNTech‘s BNT162b2 mRNA vaccine for COVID-19 and its impact on children’s neurological development during pregnancy. The research, published on January 10th in the peer-reviewed Neurochemical Research journal, found the vaccine had a “profound impact on key neurodevelopmental pathways” in male and female laboratory rat offspring.

The scientists tested the BNT162b2 vaccine on 40 pregnant rat specimens during gestation — using “molecular techniques” to track changes to the genetic protein WNT, which is responsible for neurological development impacting social behavior and memory. When the male and female rat offspring were examined after birth, the Turkish scientists found evidence of “autism-like behaviors” and effects on “motor performance.”

“Our findings reveal that the mRNA BNT162b2 vaccine significantly alters WNT gene expression and BDNF levels in both male and female rats, suggesting a profound impact on key neurodevelopmental pathways,” the scientist wrote, adding: “Notably, male rats exhibited pronounced autism-like behaviors, characterized by a marked reduction in social interaction and repetitive patterns of behavior.”

The laboratory study adds: “Furthermore, there was a substantial decrease in neuronal counts in critical brain regions, indicating potential neurodegeneration or altered neurodevelopment. Male rats also demonstrated impaired motor performance, evidenced by reduced coordination and agility.”

Despite the findings, the scientists who authored the study cautioned against drawing any conclusions on the vaccine’s efficacy beyond rat populations. “More extensive studies are needed to confirm these observations in humans,” they note.

The National Pulse previously reported that the U.S. Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) pulled a draft alert to state and local health officials warning of increased incidents of myocarditis in young people receiving the Pfizer-BioNTech or Moderna mRNA vaccines.

DeSantis Backer Josh Hammer Warns: There’s ‘No Dignity’ in Ron, Already Weakened in Florida, Continuing Primary.

Newsweek senior editor-at-large Josh Hammer has become the latest Ron DeSantis backer to warn the Florida Governor that “it is time to face reality” and drop out of the GOP race before “multiple distant third-place finishes” cause irreparable damage to his standing in the Sunshine State.

An early and dogged supporter of DeSantis, Hammer recognizes “there is no viable path to victory” for the Governor after suffering “a 30-point blowout in Iowa after betting it all on a highly touted grassroots mobilization effort” — led by the now-fired Jeff Roe.

“There is no shame in losing a primary to a former president who remains highly popular within his party,” Hammer wrote – before warning, “there is also no dignity in needlessly prolonging the inevitable” for DeSantis.

“It is time for Ron to come home. Doing so swiftly is not merely in the best interest of the Republican Party… it is also in the best interest of Ron DeSantis himself,” Hammer continued, emphasizing that the Governor’s bruising contest with Trump has “already weakened [his] standing” in his home state when he might otherwise lead a “dynamic legislative session” this year.

Hammer went on to compare DeSantis to “a washed-up ex-all-star” baseball player in danger of “hang[ing] up the spikes too late,” but suggested he “may yet be president one day” if he moves to course correct quickly.

He also stressed the importance of seeing Nimarata ‘Nikki’ Haley and her “brand of uninspiring, corporatist Republicanism” decisively crushed in the primary, not least because “the leading second choice pick for those who would ideally like DeSantis, this columnist very much included, is not Haley — it is Trump.”

DeSantis also lost the support of spokesman Steve Cortes this month. Cortes said he was “wrong” to turn away from Trump in the first place.

DATA: Most Americans Agree That Obama is Running Biden’s White House.

Most voters believe former President Barack Hussein Obama — not Joe Biden — is currently running the U.S. federal government. New data from Rasmussen Reports indicates 53 percent of voters agree Biden is “a puppet for a progressive left committee… headed by Obama.”

Former President Donald Trump has frequently accused Obama of serving a third term in office through Biden. Trump has often substituted “Obama” for “Biden” during campaign speeches to illustrate the point to voters, leading to confusion amongst Florida Governor Ron DeSantis’s online operatives.

Voter concerns that former Obama is exercising undue influence over the Biden White House aren’t unfounded. The National Pulse previously reported that the former Democrat President has at least spearheaded Biden’s A.I. policy agenda. Obama coordinated with Big Tech and West Wing officials on Biden’s behalf as he pieced together an executive order on A.I. The order sets the groundwork for federal oversight of and funding of the technology and authorizes new government hires.

In the past, Obama has mused about serving a third term in office. During a 2016 podcast interview with his former senior advisor David Axelrod, Obama said he believes he could have won a third term in 2016. “I am confident in this vision because I’m confident that if I had run again and articulated it, I think I could’ve mobilized a majority of the American people to rally behind it,” he said.

During an appearance on The Late Show with Stephen Colbert in 2020, Obama said he’d be fine with an arrangement where “I was just in my basement in my sweats looking through the stuff” and used an earpiece to “deliver the lines, but somebody else was doing all the talking and ceremony.”

Alec Baldwin Charged With Involuntary Manslaughter. Again.

A New Mexico grand jury indicted actor Alec Baldwin on Friday for involuntary manslaughter over the fatal shooting of cinematographer Halyna Hutchins on the Rust film set two years ago. The indictment comes a year after the original case against Baldwin fell through.

Baldwin, who was both the star and producer of the film, maintains his innocence, asserting that he did not know the firearm he held contained live rounds and that he did not pull the trigger. However, an analysis performed in August of last year found he must have pulled the trigger for the firearm to discharge. In October, special prosecutors Kari Morrissey and Jason Lewis indicated Baldwin would likely be charged again.

“We look forward to our day in court,” Baldwin attorneys Luke Nikas and Alex Spiro said in a statement responding to the indictment.

The indictment came from a grand jury of twelve who met at the First Judicial District Court of New Mexico in Santa Fe beginning Thursday. At least eight of the jurors agreed that there was probable cause to indict. The fatal incident happened on October 21, 2021, during a rehearsal scene when the gun Baldwin was handling discharged, fatally injuring Hutchins and wounding director Joel Souza.

Baldwin has continuously suggested that responsibility for the incident lies elsewhere, stating after the incident, “Someone put a live bullet in a gun, a bullet that wasn’t even supposed to be on the property…I can’t say who that is, but I know it’s not me.” Earlier this week, it was revealed that the film’s armorer, Hannah Gutierrez-Reed, was offered leniency if she disclosed how live rounds made it onto the set.
