‘Britain Will Be Unrecognizable’ – UK Registers RECORD Migrant Numbers.

Data released by Britain’s Home Office has revealed that the “Conservative” government granted asylum to a record number of applicants in 2023. The government granted 62,336 people refugee status or similar protection — over a 300 percent increase from the 18,185 granted asylum in 2022 and a 475 percent increase over the 13,103 granted asylum in 2021. In addition to the record number of asylum seekers, the government also issued 1.4 million visas.

By comparison, net migration was at around 300,000 people per year in the run-up to the Brexit vote in 2016. Successive “Conservative” governments have only worsened this situation, leading to fresh calls for a change in government, and a poll boost for Brexit leader Nigel Farage’s Reform Party.

Conservative MP and former Home Secretary Suella Braverman slammed the figures as a “national disaster,” saying the current levels of asylum and immigration “cannot go on” and will leave the UK “unrecognizable” if allowed to continue.

“1.4 million people were granted visas here last year. Asylum approvals at a record high. Work & student visa numbers, including many dependents, are appalling. This cannot go on: we don’t have enough homes, GPs or schools to support this level,” Braverman posted on X (formerly Twitter).

“The [Prime Minister] must adopt policies I pushed for that would have prevented this national disaster: we need a cap on overall numbers. Britain will be unrecognisable if this carries on. It’s not what the British people, including me, voted for.”

The figures are significantly higher than previously reported by the government. Last year, it was revealed that the Conservative-led government also deported the lowest-ever number of failed asylum seekers. In January, an Afghan asylum seeker who was denied asylum twice before finally succeeding perpetrated a vicious chemical attack in London, injuring 12 people.

The incident occurred at the “New Jungle” camp outside Dunkirk, where Philp traveled on Tuesday evening to assess the situation on the ground—with migrants having long camped along the French coast in large numbers while they wait to break into Britain by stowing away in trucks or, increasingly, via small boats. Philp reported that a man brandished a machete at him, swinging it in the air to intimidate others in the camp. The July 31 shooting is not Timm’s first run-in with the law. In 2020, he was arrested and charged with criminal mischief, a second-degree misdemeanor, after he drove a vehicle into a Republican Party voter registration tent at the Kernan Village Shopping Center in Jacksonville, Florida.

While he initially fled the scene, local police were able to apprehend him, with Timm defending his actions, stating that the attack was his “duty” and that he “did not like President Trump.”

“The only reason this administration was getting away with these atrocious crimes is because we were rolling over and taking it,” Timm later said during a court appearance regarding the vehicle attack. President Trump personally responded to the attack at the time, writing on X (formerly Twitter): “Be careful tough guys who you play with!”

While attorneys for Timm say his actions in Seattle last month were in self-defense, prosecutors have stated, “If you’re the one who’s the first aggressor who provokes an altercation, you lose the right to claim self-defense effectively under state law.” They cite Timm’s action of ripping off the victim’s military patch as having initiated the assault.

The order, issued by U.S. District Court Judge Lewis Kaplan—a Bill Clinton appointee who also presided over the E. Jean Carroll defamation trial against President Donald J. Trump—stipulates that ICE must provide each detainee held overnight with a bedding mat and ensure that toilets are cleaned three times a day. Additionally, Judge Kaplan ordered that ICE must allow detainees to make a private phone call with their attorney within 24 hours of detention and that they be given an information sheet that informs them they can request bottles of water and an extra meal, among other amenities.

Juge Kaplan has given the Trump administration until August 26 to comply, though he also indicated he may move forward with a broader restraining order and injunction against the White House if he certifies a class for class action before then. Notably, the only plaintiff—at the moment—is Sergio Alberto Barco Mercado, an illegal immigrant from Peru, and his main gripe appears to be that between 40 and 90 detainees are forced to share a handful of toilets. Notably, paying airline passengers experience a similar ratio of person-to-toilet access—or worse.

Medical Assistance in Dying (MAID), Canada’s term for legalized euthanasia, or “assisted dying,” has surged in popularity, to the point where doctors are now struggling to keep up. In 2023, MAID accounted for 4.7 percent of all deaths nationwide, positioning Canada just behind the Netherlands in global rankings. In Quebec, that figure surpassed seven percent, giving it the highest euthanasia rate in the world.

Since its legalization in 2016, the number of Canadians opting for MAID has increased yearly by double digits, with a particularly steep rise after the procedure became available to non-terminal patients in 2021. However, in 2023, the growth slowed to 16 percent, a significant drop compared to the previous average of 31 percent annually.

Critics have raised concerns that Canadian physicians are not only offering euthanasia but also actively encouraging it, sometimes to individuals whose primary challenge is mental health-related, such as suicidal ideation. Unlike assisted suicide protocols in other countries, in Canada, doctors administer the lethal injection themselves.

A recent report spotlighted this phenomenon, describing a Vancouver MAID conference that featured a buffet lunch, a DJ, and branded tote bags for attendees. Practitioners at the event shared how overwhelming the demand has become, and how it’s expected to rise even further this year, when MAID becomes legal for patients with mental illness.

Legislators are also considering whether to expand MAID to include minors. The proposal is already gaining traction in Parliament. Some clinicians have reportedly performed hundreds of euthanasia procedures. One maternity doctor even likened euthanasia to childbirth, referring to both as “deliveries.”

The United Kingdom has also followed Canada in passing a bill in the House of Commons to legalise assisted suicide, although it remains to be seen if it will pass in the House of Lords.

A new poll released Tuesday has revealed a dramatic shift in Germany’s political landscape, showing the populist, anti-mass migration Alternative for Germany (AfD) as the most popular party in the country. According to a survey conducted by the Forsa Institute for Social Research and Statistical Analysis, 26 percent of German voters would support the AfD if a federal election were held now.

This result places the AfD ahead of Chancellor Friedrich Merz’s notionally center-right Christian Democratic Union (CDU), formerly led by Angela Merkel, and its sister party, the Christian Social Union (CSU), now on 24 percent support.

The figures are expected to heighten concerns among establishment leaders across Europe. In neighboring France, Marine Le Pen’s National Rally is already leading comfortably, and right-wing populist parties have recently made significant electoral gains across the continent, from Poland and Romania to Portugal and the Netherlands.

In the United Kingdom, Nigel Farage’s Reform Party also outpaces establishment parties in current polls, reflecting widespread dissatisfaction with Prime Minister Sir Keir Starmer’s leftist Labour Party government.

Though some polls still show Germany’s conservative Christian Democrats narrowly ahead of the AfD in a compilation of multiple surveys, the populist party has seen a steady rise since February’s federal election, when it captured nearly 21 percent of the vote in its strongest showing to date. The AfD currently holds the position of the largest opposition party in the Bundestag (federal legislature).

Under the leadership of Alice Weidel, a former economist, the party has adopted a staunchly anti-mass migration platform. Weidel commented on the polling, saying, “The citizens have finally had enough of a Union that not only seamlessly continues the policies of the [former government] but even expands them. Mr. Merz has become intolerable after just 100 days—time for an AfD government!”

Some establishment politicians believe the AfD should be outlawed and banned as the party becomes more popular with voters.
