Arizona, North Carolina, and Pennsylvania independent voters are more likely to vote for President Donald Trump in the event of a “guilty” verdict against him in any of the partisan-political trials he is currently going through, according to data released early Tuesday by Emerson Polling and The Hill.
Republican and Democrat voters fall where you might expect them to, but the details concerning independents in a handful of swing states are likely to shock the Biden campaign and corporate media.
In Arizona, 32 percent of independents are more likely to support Trump if he is found guilty. Twenty-five percent say they are less likely, and 43 percent say it would have no impact on their vote.
In North Carolina, the numbers are similar: 32-25-43. The same happens in Pennsylvania: 31-24-45.
It’s not all rosy, however, with independent voters in Georgia, Michigan, Nevada, and Wisconsin all going the other way:
- GA: 26% more likely, 32% less likely, 42% no impact
- MI: 26% more likely, 30% less likely, 45% no impact
- NV: 25% more likely, 32% less likely, 43% no impact
- WI: 24% more likely, 30% less likely, 47% no impact
But the margins are not very big, and the news is likely to rankle the Biden Department of Justice (DOJ) and his campaign, which has been quick to gloat over Trump’s legal woes of late, despite being advised to avoid the subject for fear of voter reprisal.
